Excluding Purdue, only Indiana and Wisconsin are in top 25. And both are not teams you fear.

SEC and Big 12 are the 2 premier conferences by far.
Those conferences are not great either.
Texas Tech lost to Ohio State and Creighton, who Nebraska handled.
Texas lost to Illinois, who is a clusterf*ck right now.
Iowa State was b*tch slapped by Iowa.
Auburn held on for dear life against Northwestern.
Tennessee lost to Colorado, which is an average team.
Arkansas lost to Creighton and LSU. I've mentioned Creighton already, but LSU had to rally from almost 20 points down to beat Wake Forest. WF is the same team Rutgers crushed.

As I said before, you can say basketball across college is weak.

I try to leave that one behind but it’s really tough given the status of the league this year. A conference apology doesn’t really cut it.
Would be nice if the league applied the conference apology as a tie-breaker for seeding in the conference tournament. Otherwise it’s meaningless.

I said this about two weeks ago, and many boneheads said BIG 10 was a super strong behemoth!! What a joke. And I said it in context that was positive for RU....RU could take 2nd in BIG this year easy. We have top talent in the conference.

Before we say the big ten is down …take a good look at the other power confeence and what they did or didn’t do out of confidence as a whole

Big ten is still third best this year …at the min

Having said that …there feels like there will NOT be many teams from the power 6 confrxness with single digit losses …and I think the fourth one seed may have 6 or 7 losses and the last 2 seed will have 8 and we will see a couple of teams on the four line with 10 losses

Records are trending toward parity

RU better finish 2 or 3 cause conference should be penalized with less Tourney bids for this largely atrocious play (not RU), not to mention poor Tourney performance generally.

Exactly …having said that …it does feel like the diffeenxe from top to
Bottom in most of these confrxnee is less now …so it feels like more parity

The conference isn't weak. There are just different teams on top, which is why the haters say it's down. The "named" programs are looking up for once.

Conference has 3 schools in top 25. Please explain how that is good. I don’t care about geek stats / metrics that you posted. . I rely on my eye test and I see bunch of average schools in conference. I’m all ears 👂 to hear otherwise.

What I see is a little bit of what cubuffsdoug refers to so I always say use the eyeball test of the entire confexnee to judge

If Nebraska is 13…there isn’t many leagues with a 13th team capable of being thsr mich of PITA. They beat Iowa and had Indiana in overtime …

Every single metric has the B1G second and people are acting like we are the ACC or PAC-12 ranked 6th or worse

I think people tend to look at the tops of conferences when gauging strength. If you have 2-3 teams that are legitimate Final Four contenders, a lot of people don't care if the bottom teams in the conference are putrid.

Big Ten could be the 2nd toughest top-to-bottom conference this year and still put just 1 team in the Sweet 16.

I agree with your assessment but completely disagree with that logic. That's not what the best conference is at alllll to me. Best conference measures all teams top to bottom IMO

How so?

Are we not 0-3 in close games?
Well, sort of.

But maybe I should clarify. Are you worried that we will perform badly in the last two minutes because of random chance or are you worried that the team is actually significantly worse in the last two minutes. The first could happen. The second is very unlikely imo

I don’t buy it. The league is still tough
Look guys, we lost three in a row to DePaul, Lafayette, and Umass last year. Guess what, we ended up as a tournament team. A LOT of people were saying this exact same thing about us last year.
UNC struggled all year and did not look like they’d make the tournament and then they made it to the final.
My point is Umich, Iowa, and whoever can struggle all they want now, they’re still gonna be tough to beat.
And last I checked, we’ve sucked on the road. I like our chances to have a good season, but not to win it

Later. Because of half court offense and lack of player that Can break someone down off the dribble

We were solid in league play last year on the road compared to the rest of the B1G. Someone posted a breakdown of it not too long ago

Why are you discounting Purdue’s two 20-point wins over Duke and Gonzaga?
I'm not discounting both of those wins, but they happened at the end of November. In December, Purdue has wins over 248 FSU, 249 Minnesota, 125 Hofstra, 3pt win @78 Nebraska, 133 Davidson, 355 New Orleans, and 359 Florida A&M. Tell me which of those 7 games will prepare them for our defense, looks like Coast city for a month. Neither Duke or Gonzaga plays our style of defense. Indiana had a top offense till they met us and Ohio St is still top 3. The matchup favors us.

Well one loss was because of reffing so that doesn't really count. The players won it.

That loss hangover caused the next loss

The Miami loss doesn't happen if we have Paul

If you want to count on more injuries to crucial players and more B1G public apologies for stealing wins from us, sure. Otherwise, the context of those losses shouldn't make you think it's a trend of any sort

If you don’t have concerns about us offensively in the last few possessions of the game and the last possession of the 1st half you aren’t being objective.

The last 2 offensive possessions in the OSU game was a Spencer TO and a Hyatt missed 3. Had we scored in those last 2 possessions we don’t put ourselves in a position to get beat by a miracle play.

The Hyatt 3 was a really good look though. Sometimes guys just miss shots
