Who are you guys pulling for this week as casual bystanders?

I’m hoping for NW to pull the upset.
Purdue to take out MSU and of course the Hawks. 100% chance of rain and mid 40’s temps in Happy Valley on Saturday. I’m not sure who that helps more.

I heard Wisconsin's secondary is beat up, so their game with Northwestern could be a struggle if they can't get a good pass rush on Thorson.

Listening to Greg Sharp interview a Wisconsin writer, you’re right. Sounded like their big nose tackle may be out too. Injuries can derail teams not named Alabama, OSU, etc., that don’t have the depth to plug and play.

That said the next 2 weeks are very important for the both Iowa and Purdue, anyone that wins both of these games I believe will have a legit shot winning the West...

I doubt it. Might depend on how the Wisconsin and Michigan games turn out. It just goes to show how difficult it is to consistently win in the Big Ten, even with top talent.

I’m pretty excited for the Iowa-PSU game. Will be interesting to see how that Iowa D stacks up against McSorley and Co, and I’m also excited to see how the Iowa TEs will match ip against PSU. Should be a great game.

Although it can be a tough pill to swallow, I think we should always root for Big Ten West teams over the East teams. I'm tired of the trash talk from the OSU/Michigan/Penn State fans about our division. In that vein, Iowa fans should be rooting for Nebraska over Ohio State (very possible now that OSU has been exposed) and our board should be rooting for Iowa over Penn State. Those two results would make the Michigan game a distant memory.

I dislike Wisconsin, a lot. I won't cheer for a team based on them being in our division. Wisconsin and Nebraska will shake out to be natural rivals when this is all said and done.

It pains me to say this, but I think Iowa runs train on the Big Ten West for years to come, probably until Brian Ferentz retires. Nebraska can't keep it up running these gimmick offenses. Scott should have brought back the Osborne offense. My wife says I shouldn't sleep with my Nebraska letterman jacket on, but I do anyways, in hopes Big Red Nation wins again like they did during the Osborne years.

I am for any team that plays Wisky but I think they beat NW; and I truly believe Iowa is better than PSU, but the home field advantage makes that game a toss-up. Purdue should beat MSU, but they could be vulnerable after the emotional win over OSU. Those are 3 big games in the conference for sure.

If that dude was genuine he would've seen something very familiar that most on this board haven't even seen or paid attention to. Some of the formations we ran Saturday and have run at other times this year should look familiar as they are directly out of Osborne's playbook with Frost's twists on them as they were plays he ran while he was here. Example both of Ziggy's TD run's were out of one of those formations. There were a number of time's in 97 when Frost was in shotgun on running plays. Why not run plays and formations you know so well that you can expound on them and improve them to fit your scheme?

You do realize that if you ALWAYS root for the West division teams you are hoping things are more difficult for Nebraska. Isn't it bad enough that we end up with the hardest schedule in the conference year in and year out ? Do we really have to hope that our main competition wins so we will all look good ?

I still think State wins, Iowa hasn't had to face a mobile QB this year and McSorley can run the ball. Their D is good and PSU's offense is more of a traditional O with a mobile QB and their secondary is their weak point. Dean brought up a good point the other day and can see it. While Iowa's D is very good, that D is not built for offenses like ours.
