Our OL is actually very good across the board. We can almost pick out the total number of times they got beat on one hand.

Keeping in mind- they are playing 70-80 snaps a game times 5 OL and you have a handful of times they didn't win their battle.

Don't get me wrong, they're much better than in the recent past. I just don't see 3 of them ending in the Top 10 of B1G offensive players for the season.

Why not? Pierce will be drafted.

Pierce WILL be drafted. But are you telling me that there are NO offensive linemen in the Big 10 that are better than 3 Rutgers OL. Not Ohio St.? Not Michigan? Not Wisconsin? And then there are other positions that are included in the Top Ten.

You didn't give a reason why none of those 3 couldn't be a top Big 10 player.

Renew Pat Flaherty's contract right now.

Wow, imagine if Graber could've held on to him in 1991.
^^^ THIS ^^^ that is what I immediately thought.. how can we keep that OL coach Flaherty? If you are a Top 10 program you probably have a top OL coach already.. but.. if you have issues on the OL?

The thing is- if our running game continues to excel and our QB not only manages the game well but throws for yardage and doesn't get sacked that often, our OL will most likely grade out pretty well.

What also happens with a strong running game- not sure if this is measured but they do track it while NFL scouting- is downfield blocking. Back in the RR days - our OL were always at the top of CFB in downfield blocking.

I didn't say none, or at least that's not what I meant to say. But all 3 in the Big 10 over the course of the year is highly improbable. Remember, the rating covers all positions, not just OL.

So you are saying 5 of the Top 10 of
Offensive Players in the Big 10 should be Rutgers OL
I was sorta joking.
It's funny. I deal with a lot of fans of other schools and some are quick to try to deflate any positive story about Rutgers.
It's a little weird IMO to see supposed Rutgers fans do the same friggin thing right here.

It is very strange. Even see people busting on AK already. I was a wait and see with him but man- hard to be too upset with anything he has done so far

The OL- I think we have seen a handful of pressures all year. And so many are so worried about the right side of the OL. Then, they see the guys grade out so well and have to shade on it.

I think I probably fall somewhere between deflating (Shelby?)and RutgersAl.
