Did not see game.. waiting for replay to go up.

Comments/Questions:

Harper: think to yourself what you are doing differently this year... CoVid isolation has turned you into a BEAST out there! (noo I don't expect him to read that.. just a style I chose to get point across)

Can anyone here tell me what Mathis was up to? Shooting looks bad choices.. more like last year than this year. When the replay goes up I'll take a look.. but maybe someone knows.

PM.. need more production.

GEO.. welcome back.. great to see you in that box score.

MYLES.. holy cow.. and Cliff.. well done (I did see the highlights) high percentage shots those JAMS are...

YOUNG.. we need a new name for a stat line like yours.. well.. something to achieve.. where you get no goose eggs in any column... you had no O boards.. Myles stole them all.. but you had something in every other column. positive or negative didn't matter.. you were all over the box score.. well done. Mathis, similarly, had a zero in only one column.. blocks. Of course the TO column would look better with a ZERO.

Looks like Montez might be the player to get less touches with Geo back. Still worked hard on defense, just didn’t get in the flow on offense. With Harper Jr. Geo and JY, there are only so many shots available.

Nah, just an off night.
Agree. Mathis scores 15, 17, 18 for us at beginning of the year, gets rebounds all over the place, forces jump balls, steals .. now he has 1 game where he doesn’t score a lot and people are ready for the bench. Sheesh. He is from Baltimore, maybe he was thinking about going to visit family after the game or something and was nervous

I think he has a tendency to force things at time and try to make a play rather than play within the team ball. Its all about playing within himself. He has games where he does buy in. Tonight we was playing solid D while not getting alot of touches but then he started to get touches was shooting up some bricks and then it effected the rest of his game, missed free throws, bad fouls, turnovers. I think being back home and wanting to do well in Maryland played into it.

I realize when he is on and locked in he is key cog in this team. I do think that at times with Geo and Young in at same time with Harper, Montez might be odd man out. There was a stretch with him and Young where they just were not in sync

He played a team high 35 minutes so obviously Pike felt he needed to be out there no matter what so that says something

The key to a great team is you have a number of players that can step up any given night and be the winning pieces, that night, for the win. Mathis wasn't part of the puzzle tonight. But he will be more nights than not. We just have a lot of ways to win right now.

Bit of a non-sequitur, but I'm looking forward to the game where twin towers really clicks and takes over a big stretch of a game. It will happen.

Lots of pathways to victory with this team.

Football, wrestling, basketball are all rolling. Need to get every paper, from the New Jersey Herald in Sussex County to the Courier-Post in Camden County to the Atlantic City Press to get on board. Need News12 and New Jersey Public TV to get back to the old days and do even better and Channel 9 to remember why they were allowed to keep their license. And we need radio stations with real antennas , from Warren County to Cape May County to get on board with more games and coaches shows.

Who said anything about the bench?

I'm OK if his primary role is as a kick out 3 point shooter with all of the other dribble drivers we have.

How about the comment that the winner of the BIG may have as many as 7 losses!

Up until now I thought that was an early-season problem last year and that he got over that. And, this year, while he still seems to get that very human feeling of "I haven't taken a shot in awhile, so I better do that".. he does work his *** off on D.

Mathis is always stoic on the court, but maybe he felt off not having multiple friends and family at the game being in that arena in MD. Players are allowed an off game in this situation and it didn't stop him from playing defense for 35 minutes.
