NEVER good to lose, unless there's a stalker following you.

I still think this is a team that can win March Madness, but it needs to get its organized chaos fire back.

You can't miss 6 straight free throws late in the game, not get the 50/50 loose balls, not react in time to a player flying down the court toward the basket.

This is not how WVU got to 26-8 and top 10-ish territory. It has a week to get its mojo back. Crank up the treadmills, get in the gym and get back to what you were a few weeks ago.

The mad scientist on the stool has a week to get the 10 pit bulls ready for March Madness, which should be a zany one.

The team went into a funk in the Big 12 tournament. If it gets back to the team that we loved all season, it still can be a good run at the March Madness crown.

I still think it's possible for Kansas, Baylor, WVU and Iowa State to meet in the Final Four. Mathematically.

We'll see. Only rats abandon ship over a few leaks. Not my style.

I love this team! More fun than I've had in years over WVU basketball.

Loosing is never good. But it uncovers problems that need to be addressed. Huggs will have a chance to get them back to working on the basics...taking care of the ball, rebounding (boxing out), defense, foul shooting, etc. To make a run in March, the team has to recapture the fire they had when they were playing their best ball this season.

Having said this, l love this team. They always give 100% and never quit. They finished the season winning 6 out of 8 in one of the toughest conferences. Beating a very good ISU team (at home?) for a third time in one season would have been extremely difficult and is not a terrible loss and does not spell doom for this team. If they get some problems taken care of this week, they definitely could make a run to the final four.

It is a little to late to worry about practicing free throws. Some of these players are seniors and have been 'practicing' for thousands of hours. It ain't just WV players that miss free throws. Besides, hitting them in practice is a lot different than hitting them with the game on the line.............with thousands of folks screaming. Me, I never missed a free throw. Never. Warez

WVU improve their foul shooting from 61% to 69% during the season. Couple bad games and all is ended.

So, if we had won then the team wouldn't have to practice free throws, or ball security, or effort? And now they will? wow. Bit of a reach lol. Team lost because as a unit they don't shoot well. Period. Missed free throws. Long stretches of not scoring. Missing layups. Happened in the other lost games as well. In addition, trapping defense works better when folks aren't prepared. By this time of the year, any coach will study film and prepare his team. Losing a game is never a positive. It simply means you didn't win. lol. WVU's chances in the dance will depend on seeding.

Any team that faces WVU in the 2nd game of the week is in trouble because there's no time to get ready for the 10 pit bulls on defense.
I'm still holding out for Kansas, WVU, Baylor and Iowa State to meet in the Final Four. Wouldn't that be awesome?

WVU shot 52% from the field. Shooting was most definitely not the problem.

We lost because of unforced turnovers and poor free throws. Both of those things can happen to any team in road gAmes at tough venues.

Not a big deal, unless the team doesn't put it behind them.

Good Lord...stop hearing what you want. Rebounding problem. Turnovers problem. Too much dribbling and individual play. Missing layups etc etc. Poor play the entire tournament.

Btw: Did the body language of the players and Huggs in the post game look like losing was a good thing? lol

But you said shooting was the problem. Hey I like your posts. Don't want to demean you. Call it a day

The weak preconference part of the schedule hurt us. Except for Temple and Virginia, we never shot or went to the foul line with pressure on us--the games were won early. It changed in B12 play and cost us some confidence.

Losing is never good. If we gained time to rest it could help but beyond that losing is no good.
