Only Neal Brown came out with a win in their first Big 12 game.

WVU Neal Brown out coached Les Miles 29-24
TTU Matt Wells blowout loss to OU 55-16
Kansas Les Miles lost to WVU 29-24 and demolished by TCU 51-14
Chris Klieman loses to Okie State 26-13.

Matt Campbell has yet to win an opening game in Big 12. As much as people praise him as the best coach that has turned things around at ISU. He is only 21-21 since Big 12 and 13-15 in conference. He had good years these past 2 years. But is still a middle of pack Big 12 team.

You aren't ever going to have all the pieces in place at Iowa State.

They are going to get to that point where their fanbase becomes entitled and they think Matt Campbell is not a good coach.
You aren't going to win the Big 12 at Iowa State unless everything breaks your way.
Winning 8-10 games there consistently is all you can ask for.

Iowa State has never had a 10 win season in the history of their football program. They have had 9 win season 2 times that was 1906 and 2000. They have had 8 win season 7 times 5 of those were Earl Bruce. Campbell has 2.

First time I have ever looked at ISU football history. They have had a lot of Big time coaches that went on to have monster careers at other schools but not much success if any at ISU.

You do have a 12 game schedule with a bowl game added in.
Not all the coaches had the chance to play 13 games in a season.

They brought back a lot on the LOS, their QB and some pieces in the secondary but Montgomery and Butler left.

They have lost 2 games by 3 points. Iowa State isn't that far from being 4-0
Plus they have put enough fear in Iowa that they are afraid to play them. Iowa State was a lot more athletic than Iowa.

But Iowa State isn't Oklahoma State or even TCU.

Big 8 days Missouri had talent, Oklahoma had Texas Nebraska had National recruiting and Colorado began to recruit the West Coast.
Even harder now in the Big 12 with the Texas schools being in the conference. Iowa State has tried to get the needed players and develop them.
Purdy is a sophomore. There is no David Montgomery.
Research the number of broken tackles and YAC by Montgomery at Iowa State.
By himself he was 20% of that offense last year.

Iowa State also had to go 3 OT's to beat a weak FCS team. Iowa State was overrated this year.

They have an up and down TCU team next at home. It will be an interesting game. The at WVU, also will be an interesting match up.

ISU will finish about 7-5 win their bowl to go 8-5 and national media will sing the praises of Matt Campbell like he just won a super bowl.

Check out Northern Iowa's QB.
Especially the play in 2OT. That was a P5 level throw. I was impressed with their overall talent.
They play Iowa State tough no matter the sport. Basketball, Football and Wrestling

Regarding TCU.
They aren't up and down. They lack a QB. Duggan is getting better but he needs to improve dramatically for them to challenge the top teams.

At the 3:03 mark.
Watch how he scrambles and keeps his eyes downfield the entire time.
If any P5 program is looking for a QB they may want this kid to transfer.
This was a thing of beauty. A lot of P5 QBs don't have this ability

Let's not set the guy up for failure

Predict 8 wins want 10 dream 12 wins.

Neal Brown is a good solid coach but this can't be seen if you are thinking this man is going to change the world.

I like some of the Gus Malzahn stuff. Using motions to run and even pass.
Interested in seeing how he moves the ball the next two weeks.

I wouldn't say that, brother

Since I am on the outside I need to see proof while fans of WVU rely more on faith.
I think it is a good thing because you need fans to believe. Football is ultimately a religious experience. You have blind Faith in your program and your coaches.

People on the outside are looking for evidence and when they see evidence they will make the claims that people who want to believe make.

Sometimes, though, that faith leads to anger because it never happens. Just matters what your expectations ultimately are.

Les Miles coaches Kansas which has been awful and coached them to a P5 win over the accs BC.

Kleiman at K State has already had his team ranked top 25 after going undefeated in non con play-including a big win over a favored SEC team at their place.

Texas Tech got beat as expected by the best team in the BIG 12.

Well see soon enough how Brown fares against OU, OK State and even K State-- we already saw the failure at Missouri and narrow wins over a bad fcs and Kansas.

Texas is up next and that outcome will tell everyone alot.

You have to give credit where it is due.

He changed the offense after the Missouri game
Not many inside runs and when they are they are draws.

Everything is towards the perimeter with both the run and pass game dependent on misdirection

Defensively. This is where he is going to have issues with some teams.

They are playing back to take away explosive plays but are giving some routes underneath and are allowing 5 ypc on the ground

Certain teams in the Big 12 will take that all game and still be able to put points on the scoreboard.

Kelly Bryant showed this. The rest of the QBs were trash or inexperience.

Brown had the worst rushing attack in major college football despite returning the top rb corps in the BIG 12.

He had no choice but to make drastic changes, he had WVU on the cusp of the worst season ever if he didnt make sudden drastic changes.

Since WVU struggled all day with Kansas its likely going to be a tough season. Look how easily TCU handled them.

If a coach is somewhere for almost ten years you expect them to have depth on the OL.
Enough to work with.
This wasn't the case at WVU.

Dana did some things correctly but for the most part he didn't create a well balanced offense.
It was an offense that the pass determined everything.
Neal Brown wants WVU to be a team that can run the ball if needed or pass the ball.

Neal Brown tried to force it. He probably will eventually come back around to being that team.

You obviously are trying to troll.
People who are 100% against Dana are bad as people who are 100% for him.

Doesn't make any sense either way.

I apologize. I went too far in my comments directed at you personally. I reacted to your comments and honestly was tired of the same negativity Schtick you type about Brown. I deleted my original post. I apologize for attacking you on a personal level.

Bad FCS team? You truly are the dumbest troll on any board. What will that Texas outcome tell us? So what will Brown, faring against OU, OK State and K State tell us? We were picked by some media members to be 8th in Big 12 and others picked WVU 9th with 2-7 conference record. You're not telling us anything new, you dumbass.

We know you hate WVU. You should go back to posting as your other profile that predicted NC for WVU basketball.

Les Miles hasn't won since BC.
K. State quickly left the rankings when he finally played somebody.
Tech lost to Arizona. A soon to be bottom team in Pack 12.

I noticed you left off WVU beating ACC NC. State like a doll in a bag.

Like some have? Nobody asked you to apologize to him. You don’t have to. I personally choose to try and not attack anyone personally here. I went across a line that I drew, and I tried to make up for it, because I was wrong in what I did. It doesn’t make him any less wrong, but it allows me to keep from stooping to a level that some have. It’s about giving myself personal respect.

So you took the assumption I was meaning you? Interesting.
