Imagine not wanting to give a kid a second chance like Osborne always did (someone you claim to respect but apparently don’t), and backing the biggest loser in program history (who was a transfer himself)… all because you were to inbred to give the last regime a chance (purely because the AD fired a POS that was LITERALLY ASKING to be fired)….. and not realizing how hypocritical and moronic his stance is.
Sums up a decent chunk of the idiots we need to cleanse from the fan base.

**** you don’t think I don’t know that..
Has nothing to do with Betts quitting last March, that was his decision.
You should report yourself, like the dozens and dozens of other posts you do weekly.

Nah I cant do that. I have to go to work so your kids mom can get her section 8 housing assistance and $800 food stamp allowance.

You should know better than anyone.. You’re the president of the I can’t stand SF Klux Klan…
Wait why havent I been invited to the SF klux klan. Ive hated him ever since his arrogant 1st press conference. Worst coach in Husker history.

Wait YOU have to go to work so SHE can get assistance? Well that was a good try simpleton but that made zero sense. You’re going to work at 11pm on a Saturday? That’s a tough shift at the 7/11 kid. Stay safe, keep working hard, some day…some day you’ll manage that 7/11.

Dont you think the dysfunction in the program could have contributed to Betts quitting?
In some cases a player wuitting can be due to the coach and his percieved abilities. In this case the tea leaves say otherwise. Accept that or dont but youre doing a bad job of convincing others when you choose a hill like thos one.

Only downside is if he goes on scholarship and uses one of the 85 that could be better awarded to a portal transfer who has already "found himself". With everyone this staff has bought in plus who they will bring in before spring ball and after spring practice, Rhule is fast running out of scholarships.
Plenty of room.

His upside is worth it. If he taps out again you can always replace him.
Exactly. I know I am willing to put up with more of prima dona, attention *****, and indecisive tendencies now seeing as we need every bit of talent we can get. We can get picky later if afforded the opportunity.

Not a lot of downside here. If he's still disinterested in playing football, and hasn't been working on his game, it'll be apparent to the staff early on.

Lol not tough to figure out the working people pay for you and mommy to sit home. Someone has to pay your bills. Really not hard to figure our for anybody who has more than 6 brain cells.

I’m willing to give him another chance, some kids need a mentor and we all know under the frost staff there was no mentor until Mickey showed up. We all know now that frost was a drunken mess for 3-4 years he couldn’t help himself let alone a young man

I admit I'm torn. I want Betts to succeed. I just think his long history of a lack of mental toughness will limit his success again.

A troubled individual returns for another shot? I really do hope for his sake and the sake of the team that he has figured out how to resolve his demons or whatever was troubling him. It would be such a great feel-good story if he's able to make that comeback.
I think these types of players are part of the cultural problem that has plagued the program. Guys who just aren't mentally there and committed and are ready to jump ship whenever they feel like it. I would give him the shortest leash and no room to behave like anything but a hard-working, 100% committed player. If he starts missing practices or class, cut him.

It is what it is. He’s either sorted some stuff out and is ready to compete or he’s not.

I for one appreciate the blue collar gas station attendants like yourself. Country couldn’t run without guys like you. You probably don’t hear this enough, but thank you.

Nothing is guaranteed yet as far as football. As far as school goes he never left, is passing every class and has been since enrollment. He left football bc of coaching. I will know by the end of the day if he is going to stay or not.

A non contributor that was I believe second in receiving yards at about 300 on just 20 receptions.
The stats are the stats. The kid can play. Maybe the new staff can get more out of him. Given the **** show that the program has been, I understand how the kid might not have been jazzed up about being on the roster.

This is why you need 85 good players on roster, not 21 four stars and then 60 experimental reaches. Guys are going to leave for a whole bevy of reasons in this age.

I didn’t take the time to go find it in this thread but I was grilled on here for being critical of allowing Betts to come back…and here were are. What a waist of time this was. Every single rep this kid took in practice was a rep that could have gone to a kid that wants to great. Your heart wasn’t in it!? And it took you three years to figure that out??
