given his 99th percentile performance at the Opening and great frame. Is a 5th star forthcoming?

They been talking about it, I’m guessing Betts will get his for sure. Turner Corcoran might come just shy.

Doubt it. I've probably always looked with rose colored glasses but the ranking sites seem to do everything they can to make sure Nebraska kids don't get above a 4. Betts, however, may be the first one since Baker Steinkuhler.

Which player in the last ten years played like a 5 star for us?

Can't really think of any blatant ones so you got me. From Nebraska maybe Janovich? Niles Paul? But they are both stretches for playing like 5 stars.

From elsewhere maybe Burkhead, Ameer or A. Martinez?

Slowly there is a shift in how the stars are "done" if you notice, having insane HS stats doesn't carry the weight it once did...now it is about camps...This is a business and the business model is simple...get kids to camps...get fans to sign up for the site.

I’m no expert, and my initial thought was that grading out in the 99th percentile would probably make him a 5 star as well. While I’m not worried, I do think his grade/qualification issue could keep him at a 4 star. 5 stars or 4, this kid is a stud and will be a special player in this system.

I can't remember who they were interviewing but it was a Rivals guy on the radio and they were talking about Dez Bryant about a year ago. The Rivals guy said everyone agreed he was a 5 star, but because it was unlikely he would qualify, they kept him at a 4 star. He said the reason was something along the lines because there are so few 5 stars that it makes the recruiting service look bad to rate a bunch of 5 stars and many of those 5 stars end up not even playing in FBS.
So according to that, grades do come into affect.

Who is "everyone"?

My question on this is the timing. Kids are rated as juniors, by companies of "experts" not the head coaches who would know about grade issues. So a kid is not rated as high as a junior because some supsects his grades/test scores won't be good enough? Hmmm

Getting his 5th star would matter as these kids all look at that stuff closely. Seeing a 5 star at Nebraska helps with future recruits... especially at WR.

Injured at the camp he’s currently at. Had to be helped off and was not putting any weight on his leg.

Not sure what you are mean, but Rivals never split into 24/7. 24/7 is part of the Scout.com network.

247 was started in 2010 after one of the higher ups at rivals left to start his own site. In 2017 247 bought Scout

Eactly. Many of the team sites transformed. This own website use to be huskersillustrated but the Babcock’s moved on to 24/7. And we weren’t the only team that had this happen. Sean Callahan stayed of course and they started Huskers Online. Maybe Kaz was thinking more directly but 24/7 is a spin-off of Rivals in many many ways.
