Better MSU Baseball Team - 2013 or 2019?

13 because of pitching. Take the lineup of 19 add Frazier and Renfroe and the pitching staff and we are national champions. Seems pretty easy to me.

If you are going on talent alone, 2013 had Graveman and Woodruff. Interesting fact. That 2013 team has had more players play in a major league game than any SEC baseball team in history.

It’s just not an even comparison for a lot of reasons. 2013 was in the dead bat era when nobody could hit, the new baseball being introduced in 2015 totally changed how the game was played for most. We were also very bullpen dependent in 2013, this team was very starting pitching dependent.

I do think the 2019 team was better all-around, though 2013’s bullpen depth was top notch and I would take Renfroe over any of our power bats on this team. And 2013 will always be special for a lot of reasons.

It’s just hard to say because it really was two different eras of college baseball even though they were just 6 years apart. The 2013 team only went 16-14 in league play but had a brutal schedule. We had a slightly easier schedule this year but still a very tough one.

Up until that Oregon State HR Renfroe was in a slump.

I'd take 2019 still.

But I do agree that 2016 was better ALL around than 2013, 2018, or 2019.

I believe Mangum was probably the best leader we have had tho. That dude worked his *** off

2013 & 2018 got hot at the right time.... 2016 should have won it all...2019 reached expectation, but drew a bad bracket at Omaha.

Some people cant remember well but the starting pitching was thin in 2013. Woodruff did nothing for us in college. We had Graveman and some openers. We had stronger bullpen that year but our starters were legit this year. Even Plumlee pitched well against Vandy. You put starters from this year with that bullpen would be one helluva staff. We were a couple bullpen arms away this year. But our guys have it all. Hate comparing. We lost to two great teams.
