Lavonte David might have been the best player that Bo ever brought to Nebraska. He was all over the field for every game he played. Big time stops against PSU secured us a victory and his takeaway against Ohio State sprung the big come back.

With that said, the answer is definitely Farley.

The question is like asking if Ameer Abdullah was better than Lawrence Phillips... sure you can put stats together and try make a case... but no.

I love David, but I completely disagree with this thought. Farley was the freak on team full of freaks. I don't think David makes near as many plays as he did if you surround him was all those other studs. I've never seen anything like Farley at Nebraska.

It's a fun argument but we'll have to agree to disagree. As someone mentioned above the NFL numbers stand out but I'd either anytime.

Well, for inside LB.....Murtaugh was awesome.

I vote for Murtaugh. First team AA, Big 8 POY, overall badass. Not only that, but a major pain in Devaney's butt - in a good way, sort of.

The NFL argument doesn't fly, unless you'd agree that Roger Craig was the greatest running back in the history of Nebraska.

I remember listening to a former teammate of Farely talk awhile back (maybe Benning but dont hold me to that) and he said (paraphrasing) that Farely was a freak of an athlete but pretty much freelanced out there. The coaches really didn't know what he was going to do. He was basically, see ball, go get ball. People forget but he didn't start until the sixth game in 1995.

Nevertheless it's pretty hard to compare guys that were asked to do different things in completely different defensive schemes. And McKeon??? Wtf???
