LaVonte David, dude had it all. Speed, strength, that LB vision to the ball carrier, could drop back in coverage and be just as good, also had the pass coverage ability and over all that kill em instincts. The other two are very good to. But you’d almost have to combine the other two to equal a LaVonte David.

I was only showing respect. That was all. And quite honestly, I really don’t care about my credibility on a free Husker site brotha....so what ever ;)

My suggestion is, focus on my point and not one single sentence when I showed past players respect. Do you disagree with what I said on LaVonte David??

I thought he was thrown in like an obviously wrong answer on a multiple choice test.
He was!
And Salts said he was good!

If you combined farley and mckeon, as salts said you would have to do to equal lavonte, it would mean farley on his own is better than lavonte as mckeon would make regular farley worse.

My Lord peeps, focus....focus on the point of this post. Again I was only showing respect. My pick is LaVonte David. Dude had it all and was the total package.

Rob Zatecha, on sports sound off with travis justice, drawing the kleenex box on the game film for a play (one of the many) mckeon quit on was one of the greatest moments in sports talk history. I laughed so hard.
Anyone else see this and remember it? It was great

Farley! No Question... to those of you who vote David... please watch TF video. I love me some David, but Farley is the NU master!

Farley made spectacular plays, but David often single-handedly kept NU in games. Farley might have been more talented, but David was a tackling machine who had far less talent around him.

Exactly, and this is merely opinions. None of us will ever know if one was truly better then the other. My pick is David but Farley was a close second

I have never seen a high school film like Davids...or a JC film. It wasn't that it was amazing it was that it was so easy.

The thing is, tackling is hard and every now and then you find a guy that makes it look easy and he was one of them. They are freaks.

Dat Ngyuen was another and so was Zach Thomas and Mike Singletary. They make tackling look easy.

TF was different, he was a freak when it came to being in the right place at the right time...some guys just have "that"

Yes, these are the fun arguments to have - who was better instead of who sucked less!

For me, David was just relentless - game in and game out, and with every opposing OC trying to figure out ways to neutralize him.

yeah, I will go with Lavonte for pretty much the same reasons as scheule alluded to.

Lots of great linebackers. I always thought Phillip Dillard was awesome in 2009, but overshadowed by Suh.

I have a great memory of Terrel Farley. I went to the KSU game in Manhattan in ‘96. I was only 15 at the time, but I remember 2 jackwagon KSU fans (grown men trash talking a 15 year old) giving me crap, the whole “N” for knowledge thing that was so “funny” back then. After about 10 minutes I looked at them and said something to the effect, “Do you see #43 down there? That’s Terrell Farley. He’s going to destroy you today...”. First play from scrimmage Farley damn near kills their QB for a sack. By halftime those guys had shut up and couldn’t wait for me to leave. The Blackshirts were nails that day. I don’t remember how much offense KSU generated that day, but it wasn’t much. I know there was a blocked punt, several turnovers. Great memory! That said, I’m going with David as the best. That guy was an unbelievable LB.

The music on this vid isn't really safe for work, but it's interesting to see just how dominating TF was. LD was great too, hard to pick a guy, but I went with Farley.

I didmt realize how many TD's TF had. Awesome!

Farley was great at blitzing and played on much better teams. If you put LD on those same defenses OMFG!

I love David, but I completely disagree with this thought. Farley was the freak on team full of freaks. I don't think David makes near as many plays as he did if you surround him was all those other studs. I've never seen anything like Farley at Nebraska.

David was an All-America, Farley wasn’t. I kind of feel like Farley’s highlight clip amplifies his legendary status. He was amazing no doubt and I’m not sure a defensive player has ever scored more TDs in school history but David was more decorated.

Oddly the 3 people are listed were alll Jucos. Is that a sign we haven’t had too many great LBs or a sign LBs are more difficult to judge out of HS or just bad HS students?ha...

Broderick Thomas is actually the most decorated LB in school history. 2 time AA. All big 8 defenseive player of the year. And many believe his sophomore season was his best. He played outside LB in a defense where today some may say he was actually an end but in the NFL he was a LB. Hard to judge an LB because as the scheme changes in D so does the role of the LB. Even going from 3-4 to 4-3.
