I'm finally over the loss...

I've come to terms with this saying

Great recruiting classes can = success
But successful teams are not always made of great recruiting classes...

If Cal stays at Kentucky for a while, he's got at least 2-3 more titles in him... It's always a fun season, and we are overwhelmingly competitive... We are just spoiled and rightfully so being the kings of college basketball, but that does not make March losses any easier.

However there is not a single other program more competitive than we are year in and year and I wouldn't trade our situation for anything in the world.

Now if UNC can just lose, all will be well, and we will hang #9 within the next 2-3 seasons

I suspect UK wins another title in the next 2 years and if things fall the right way our team next year could be Cal's best but obviously need Briscoe and Bolden to be so IMO.

I think next years team could be cals best yet while at uk, especially if Briscoe comes back. I'm just curious how it all plays out between now and then

I have a feeling that next years team has that "it" factor mentally... I mean all McDonald's All Americans are talented... But what separates those guys from flaming out in the tournament or a championship is that mental toughness

It just seems like next years crop is a little different mentally... Add that with Briscoe, Willis, Hawkins, Matthews, and Tai, and Issac..

That's a really strong group, we def have a good chance and that's really all you can ask for honestly

I love the athleticism for next years team, but I think they are missing 2 things:

1. Enough shooters. (Ulis>Fox, Murray>Monk)
2. A decent back to the back to the basket scorer (Kat, Dakari, Davis, Cousins).

However, can they still win #9? Yes

While next season looks very promising, I am going to sit back and wait to be pleasantly surprised. Sometimes the best years happen when least expected, and the biggest disappointments happen when we are sure of the next greatest team. You just never know how things will work out until the ball meets the hardwood when the games are for real. I does look like we will have a team that will be consistently elite next year. Can they hold it together for a run through March? We shall find out and hopefully be smiling when it is over!

You're right my friend and it should be a fun team to watch!! Probably UK and Duke in the Final (you know the NCAA will give the Dukies the easiest path to final four!)
