If you use the word "best" in this sentence:
Who is the best team Alabama or Tcu
Hands down anyone with a brain is taking BAMA.
And I am in no way a Bama fan.

Hell, Bama should never play any games, everyone knows they’re the best. Just give ‘‘em the trophy every year and save us all the time.

Not Bama Gump.

Didn't you hear Nick Saban crying at halftime? They had some injuries this season. This is something not one of their opponents had to put up with.

K-State would likely beat Alabama just like they beat TCU. The question is, if Alabama and K-State played twice, could Alabama go 1-1 vs. them like TCU did?

Top 4 in my opinion should be:

1. Georgia
2. Michigan
3. Ohio State
4. TCU

I would disagree.

If you've got 100 bucks to wager against the 2...TCU is a double digit underdog. Just a fact.
Why even have a playoff by your logic? Just give the title to the SEC champ every year and forget it. Sounds fun.

i understand your point. do we want the best 4 teams? or do we want teams from different parts of the county?

perhaps a 12 team playoff fixes this.

but for 2022, whats the criteria? the best 4 teams in the nation? or 4 teams that adds in school diversity.

How in the world is alabama one of the best four teams in the nation?

Theres way too much historical bias out there.

If you want to value the regular season, you have to, you know, consider the results from the games that actually happened.
Under bucks criteria alabama doesnt even have to play a regular season, or a conference title game, just put them in the playoffs and let everyone else duke it out for the other three….or, two. Sec champ gets a nod (cause it isnt bama).

I seem to remember the almighty bama barely squeaking by an 8 win Texas team who played 3/4 of the game without their QB. I remember TCU beating that team by a TD in a game they never trailed in.

Man, did nobody watch Nick Saban at halftime?

Alabama had some players get hurt this season. He said it more than once.

That caused some to not be 100%.

Tired of imperfect 'Bama teams getting a free pass to the playoffs.

How many two-loss Nebraska teams had shots at national championships?

I want to see bama get the same ole sec favoritisum because :
1. the big 12 was dumb enough to put tcu into double jepardy, after they allready beat ksu
2. it's allways great to see a sec bias exposed, by a commitee who struggles with basic math
3. I think a georgia or bama would pound mich or osu...more so then tcu
4. it would be fun to hear them complain about it on 365 sports

40? You like to exaggerate. A lot.
just being objective. i have no feelings for or against either team. i dont care who makes the playoffs.

but i know this, if Bama and TCU were playing (this year)...my money is on Bama.

take out the records, the who beat who, the unfriendly feelings towards a school. a straight up head to head, the money line is on Bama. if you think otherwise, i'd say that a bias is influencing perception.

Alabama hasn't beaten anyone with more than 8 wins, lol.
you're telling me you think TCU is a better football team than Alabama?

i'm not looking to quarrel, but dont cite me records, win/loss comparisons, or whatever. straight up, TCU is a better football team than Bama?

What you're talking about is criteria. Criteria matters when making a selection. Bama couldn't even win their own division. They didn't "earn' an opportunity for a national title. Same goes for OSU.

But on a neutral field TCU by 3

There are 2 clearly “best” teams this year. Should forget the other 2 and just have a championship game.

Probably going to get that matchup in the Sugar. Should be an interesting game.

If Bama wins: "Told you so."

If Bama loses, they didn't really want to be there.

Yep. That's the team with an actual complaint.

Regardless, it's hard to make a case you belong with two losses.

jmo if Bama gets in the the other P5 schools need to form their own playoffs let’s the sec play each other and even if bama would lose crown them champions. Heck why did Georgia and lsu play in the conference championship game they should have just given it to bama

Yeah, my “money” would be on Bama too, and they are almost always favored. Yet they DO lose. Almost every damn year. This year they are a good not great team that is 4th best in their own conference. It doesn’t matter how you feel about TCU, there is no chance Bama will be in the playoff.

If the playoffs were 12 today - here would be your teams as no one near the cut line lost

Top 4 byes (highest ranked conf champs)

Georgia - Mich - Clemson - KSU (Utah possibly replace KSU but they were behind them in the last rankings)

Next 8 not seeded

Utah
USC
Washington
Osu
Penn St
Tcu
Bama
Tenn

3 pac
3 BIG
3 sec
2 big 12
1 acc
What about Tulane? Since they did lose 2 games they wouldn’t be considered and not rated high enough..

Nothing better than a pansy cheerleading contest to determine the best team. This is no different than what we were doing 20+ years ago. Just an absolute joke. Pathetic. This whole process has solved nothing.

If you want to have playoffs, then take the conf winners and a couple wildcards. This is a solved problem.
