Best Restaurant in Hoover AL

Hoover is super suburbia, nothing but chains. Where you staying and how far you want to drive, and what's your preference?

At one time there was a Chicago Style Pizza place in Hoover that was the just as good as the real thing. The pizzas were so think, you needed to give them a 45 minute head start, or be prepared to wait. Can't remember the name.

I know SPSers hate on it, but the ribs at Dreamland in Tuscaloosa are some of the best you'll find.

You're probably talking about Rosati's Pizza. Unfortunately, I think they have closed. Fantastic thin pizza. We ate there a few times and even ordered take out to go back to Huntsville a couple of times.

I always recommend Bettola in Brimgham. It’s not in Hoover, but worth the drive into town, IMO.

Gianmarco’s is a really neat restaurant. Perry’ is upscale steak. I’d recommend reservations at either. Amore’ on 280 also excellent. If you’re taking kids just hit a chain place.

For some good locally grown farm to fork Mexican, Little Donkey is a cool place. The pork carnitas are fire.

Chuck’s Fish on 280 is pretty damn tasty. $$$ or $$$$ though

There’s a bunch of chain restaurants at The Summit (right north of I465 on 280) - Chuey’s, Steak Shack, Cheesecake Factory (yuck), etc.

I travel to that side of Birmingham every now and then and my first choice for dinner is always Amore'. I ate there last weekend and it was suburb. Just a heads up reservations fill up quick for the weekend.

It absolutely is. The only thing that has changed is that you won't see the Koikos brothers there anymore. Jimmy passed and Nikky is, last I heard, on deaths door. But they found a cousin capable of taking over several years ago and it's running the same as it always has.

IIRC there are two in TTown, at least one in Birmingham, two in Montgomery, and I bet there is one in Auburn. Georgia's stadium even has one.

Got friends in Hoover and they highly suggested this place
I was able eat there twice per-covid
an absolute old school mom and pop Mediterranean gem
service is awful. Just know that going in.
don’t matter because the food is A+
Friday Night New York Strip, Salad, fresh Bread plus two sides
i suggest the Greek or Rosemary potatoes
more food than u can eat at two seating
top 3 steaks I’ve ever had,
Price $14.99
( that was pre-Covid)

I knew they had one in Tuscaloosa, B'ham and Mobile, didn't know about the others. I just threw Dreamland in cause I know it gets the goat of the SPSers food critics.

May be that I thought Dreamland's was mediocre and expensive, and to give it the best shot I went to the original location. Rose's, 3 Pigs and B&B have better BBQ. If I want restaurant BBQ I'll hit up Leatha's.

Tortugas most definitely and they are still open.

I ate there two weeks ago. Highly recommend the deep dish all meat pizza. It's expensive but completely worth it.

Another vote for Bright Star in nearby Bessemer. Fresh seafood and great steaks. Wonderful ambiance and reasonable.
