I think Rutgers can beat anyone in the Tourney but for Zags and Baylor and perhaps OSU,hence this is who I want and don't want to see:

First round
Yes
VCU
Loyola Chicago
Xavier

No
SHU- don't need additional pressure
UConn-With Bouk very talented
SDS- very well coached

Second round
Yes
Houston
Va Tech
Purdue- if forced to play another conference member
No
Alabama-tough to beat when making 3s
Virginia- controls tempo
WVU- rugged and tenacious

Sweet 16
Yes
Nova
Illinois
No
Zags
Baylor
OSU- caveat tough to beat a team 3 times. See SJU game in 1979.

I am hoping that they can win 4 of the 5 remaining games so that they can get a better seed and path to the sweet 16. I don't want to see them play the Gonzaga or Baylor too early.

I would agree with most of this but I would add Oregon and St John's to the list of potential 1st round matchups. The question is can St John's, UConn and Seton Hall all make the field?? Seton Hall has the clearest path, I assume they're in. UConn has to win at Seton Hall or at Nova to get in for sure. St Johns hosts Seton Hall and probably must have that game to make it.

My own "chaos" scenario would be RU drawing Oregon in round 1 (6 vs 11 seed) and Texas as a 3 seed vs Iona as a 14 on same side of the bracket.....Call it the reverse RU transfer round, seeing Eugene in round 1 and Jacob Young getting a potential matchup against Texas in Round 2.

If we play Loyola Chicago , that game might be the first one to 50 wins , maybe 45.

Rutgers wins 4 of 5 and wins one in the big ten tourney to finish 13-9/17-9...and earns a 5 seed

matched up with #12 seeded UC Santa Barbara

after disposing of the Gauchos by a dozen....we draw 4th seeded Tennessee...and take down the Vols

our sweet 16 game gets to be Villanova ....awaiting the winner of the Michigan - Texas winner

I want no part of Loyola or Mountain West schools

One thing to remember Rutgers has no experience in the NCAA..did Texas make it with Young

We finish 4-1 we should be a 5 seed. Finish 3-2 and win a game in B1G tourney we are a 6 IMO.

I'll go with 6 seed. We will get a Big East team in Round 1--this screams to be RU-shoe or UConn--with winner getting 3 seed Virginia or Texas, with Nova as the 2 if we get that far in S16. Should Nova stumble into a 3 seed we will placed in same region as a 6, with round 1 against a different 11.

I think the NCAA will go with more regional matchups for TV draws--they should have greater flexibility since there were minimal OOCs.

I hope we can finish 5th or 6th in B1G, and get Iowa a 3rd time.

When we were playing so well early in the season, we were destroying OSU before those phantom fouls on Myles. Yes, they're very good, but yes we can beat them.

That maybe true but NO team has experience in the way the tournament will be held this year. COVID restrictions, central locations, almost no travel. Neutral court fans backing an underdog in the early rounds has fueled a lot of the upsets we've seen through the years.
That's not happening this year.

An advantage for Rutgers, & all Big Ten teams, playing on familiar courts. Having the Big Ten tournament in Indianapolis will also be advantage, as lots of NCAA games will be played at Lucas Oil as well..

We need to avoid the 8/9 seed. That will put us in the same bracket as the zags or Baylor. That is assuming Michigan and OSU both get 1 seeds, which is very likely.

If we were to run into Oregon in the tournament who is guarding EO? I am not familiar with their roster but assume they have a serviceable 5 as well? I think he would be handful inside for anyone other than MJ.

Anyone but Seton Hall. Remember losing in 1979 to the Johnnies. Want to play someone else.

Are we talking Seton Hall or St Johns? Or are you simply stating, you'd prefer to play a non-local team?

I feel like OSU was still getting into their groove at that point. They’re significantly better and scarier now

Those foul calls turned their season around. SMH to those who claim Officiating is verboten.

I still get chills from that St. John’s loss at the RAC a few years ago. I don’t think they shot that well ever since Chris Mullins.

No - I’m pretty sure he plays the 5. He’s the biggest starter.
