More encouraging signs...

As hard as it is to believe, it appears the Westerkamp has stepped up his game another notch. Great hands and great run after the catch. In fact all our receivers played well and had great runs after the catch. Big improvement from better coaching. When we get all of our players back from injuries I think our receiver group could be amazing.

The running backs played well and will play even better with better run blocking... repetition from practice. WILBON is the next great Nebraska running back. Great speed up field, great moves, fast and decisive Not to take anything from the other backs who also played well. We have a stronger group of running backs than many realize.

Tommy Armstrong. Most improved player on the team. His passing in the first quarter was excellent. Light years ahead of last year. Yes he had some problems in the second quarter with accuracy and he appeared to fall back into some old bad habits. But he returned in the second half and made more great plays. The replay on tv ( if I remember correctly) of Nebraska's last touchdown where TA passed to receiver was textbook perfect on Tommy's part. The broadcast camera from the end zone showed it clearly. Tommy was focused and relaxed. His throw to the receiver was confident and relaxed with textbook perfect throwing motion. The trajectory (arch) of the pass was textbook. The speed of the throw was textbook. The throw to a spot in space was textbook... allowing the receiver to catch and run. Very encouraging.

The adjustments made by the coaches at halftime is what we have all been screaming for, for a long time. With past coaching staffs they just never materialized. They did yesterday. Great to see that.

For the fist time in a very long time I'm encouraged about the direction we are headed.

Actually if you think there is a bright future under an Old Man that has a history of incompetence and ineptitude, it is safe to say you know nothing about football. Supposing 9-10 win seasons weren't bright since Pelini got fired for them, I'm assuming you think Nebraska is going to win 11-12 games a year under Riley. Haha that is just plain stupid. Name calling on an anonymous forum is demeaning and childish, but in some cases it is true. You are just plainly an idiot. Riley is a dreaful coach who has a proven track record of getting blown out, losing to mid majors and FCS schools, and underachieving.

But but but all of a sudden that will matter and an old man with a long track record of losing is all of a sudden going to take Nebraska to national championships!!!! Haha some people are just f***ing stupid.

And some people like you are too dumb to see the mental stability that the kids showed. Under Bo this team would have imploded and lost by 40 once calls stated going against them. This team moved past errors and **** calls. They made mistakes but you could see the adjustments and the kids learning as they went. Riley has a proven track record of overachieving where he has coached based on the support given to him. You are showing your biase against him and the hire. Your post is not based on any football knowledge or ability to know anything about football or coaching it. You are right calling names on a message board is pointless but I think moron fits you in this scenario. Have fun hating the team and coaches you supposedly are a fan of. I'll stay optimistic that we are going to improve and play hard and stay competitive.
