Where Bennerman ends up will be most revealing. Was he a bust who has to move down for at least a couple years or was there some mismanagement or other issue there and he’ll get other options?
Agreed. This sucks. I was really looking forward to seeing what he had to offer.Where Bennerman ends up will be most revealing. Was he a bust who has to move down for at least a couple years or was there some mismanagement or other issue there and he’ll get other options?
He's from Nashville. I bet he ends up at Vandy.Didn’t we beat out Michigan for him? Regardless, I don’t think he ends up there.
More like middle tenn stateHe's from Nashville. I bet he ends up at Vandy.
He was a red shirt, right? Never played a game? At 7' he should be able to write his own ticket in the portal. If he thinks he'll be the third center next year, he'd be better off seeking a new home. Isn't Purdue graduating their starter and only have a 7'4" freshman?
Assuming he does indeed move down for a year or two to develop, it will be interesting to see if he pops back up at a big boy in the future after he’s developed. We’re talking about Bennerman, right?
I watched him in the exhibition game. He had no business being on the floor this season. Would have been malpractice for Collins to play him.Collins not playing him when our bigs were average at best is so silly. Guys don’t want to sit anymore.
He’s very fortunate he didn’t play. Preserved a year of eligibility, potentially extremely valuable down the road if he develops into somebody who can command the NIL of a roster position on a P4 roster. High six figure plus value per year.I watched him in the exhibition game. He had no business being on the floor this season. Would have been malpractice for Collins to play him.
And no one really has film of him, so he can sell himself with little contradiction! He’s very fortunate he didn’t play. I'm not talking about the short term play. If he has to step way down to a small school after flopping this year, so be it (the whole point of this thread is I have no idea if that'll happen or not). But if he wasn't worth much this year and he has to spend presumably at least 1-2 years becoming a star on a smaller team before he can cash in... he's far better suited having that extra year on the end of the deal. And no one really has film of him, so he can sell himself with little contradiction!
