OSU doesn't have a spot for him right now. They are waiting on Browning and Werner. If Browning goes to Alabama and Werner goes to ND, Bell goes to OSU. Right now both are leaning to OSU which would push Bell to RU.

I think we end up with Bell and it would be a tremendous get for us and for anybody not named tOSU or Bama.

Underlying this is the fact that tOSU is going to be scary, scary good in the next few years. We need to up our game significantly. Hell even Bama better get them this year.

Reports still say that it's an 86% chance that he commits to RU. I sure hope they are right

Now appears 'not-OSU' ... possibly RU ... or ....?

Pete Werner, after de-committing from ND on Nov 29 - is now shown on the "crystal ball" as 100% OSU - funny - a number of "experts" jumped in & revised their projection ... He takes his official OSU visit on December 9th.

Also -
Bell is reported to have already taken his 5 official visits -

OSU
Florida
Maryland
Michigan
Rutgers

would seem that his info gathering has been done - of course he can do a visit on his own dime if he is suddenly enchanted by a new program.

Is it intentional by the poster?-or a coincidence?-but the background in that picture is the color of "R" uniforms. Hopefully Bell just wants to announce it nationally at the All-American game. Didn't Darius Hamilton do similar.

Coincidence. Those are the UA-AA colors.

Wouldn't be the first time that we got left at the altar. Article says he has pushed back his commitment date so that OSU can sort out its scholarship offers and try to find room for him.
Not quite.
At one point, Bell was supposed to have already announced his commitment. But by pushing it back to roughly a month before National Signing Day, it allows Ohio State to sort out its numbers.

This isn't saying that Bell is intentionally doing Ohio State a favor or that he's holding out for a spot with the Buckeyes. He's also closely considering Maryland, Clemson, Florida and Rutgers.

Baron Browning committed to Ohio State on December 1st
Pete Werner, takes his official OSU visit - starting tomorrow - December 9th and all reports have him as a done-deal to OSU
- in other reports it has been speculated that Browning + Werner to OSU would mean Bell goes elsewhere - but who knows ...

also Jeffrey Okudah - mentioned in this article & others as another 'really want to get' for Meyer - appears to be headed to Columbus
on the other hand Trey Smith (five-star OT) announced to Tennessee on 12-6
- the unknown is - how many 'gets' would leave Bell on the outside of OSU's scholarship slots -

There is an updated article that ranks OSU's remaining prospects - Bell is #10

Thanks. Yes. So this is who we are competing with. 4 star Bell is 10th(!) on their priority list in mid December.

Todderick has a slide show up that indicates Maryland has moved into the lead. . . . . .

UGH ...
odd thing about Bridgeton, NJ - it is almost as far south as Baltimore - many, many years ago had business that required an overnight there - and it was clear that many folks identified with the whole Baltimore (Orioles fans / Colts fans) ... Del/Mar/ Va ...frame of mind New York & Philly - were 'places up north' - granted this was largely skewed by the folks at the business that we were dealing with.... and the hotel where we stayed ... and the restaurant where we ate.

This is the recruiting battle Ash needs to win. Can't lose this type of player to Maryland or VT. I understand if OSU comes in and gets him, but not these other schools.

Totally agree. For a while he was "ours to lose" and it seems like we're trending down. I hope this isn't the case.

That's the way to do it young Mr. Bell.. if your are not decided.. don't "commit".. verbally or otherwise. Maybe when we name an OC that will do it.
