of Ohio State and Maryland... I thought he was RU as long as OSU didn't have room, what changed?

Hard to believe how bad the recruiting on D has been compared to the O. Drew and Blazek vs. Nieman and Burnham? Ash either needs to flash a little more or bring in an assistant on D with a pulse for the DL and LB. Busch and Henry seem to be doing a decent job with the DBs, if the class holds.

I guess OSU found room. Or they didn't and he wants to pretend like he's turning them down. What a disappointment, seemed like he was ours for a while there.

Cant lose recruits to Maryland Iowa and need to go toe to toe with Wisconsin Michigan St and Penn St (which may be slightly more difficult than the Wiscy Mich St. Bad recruiting loss here.

Maryland has a killer class coming in.
Durkin is a hell of a recruiter. Named recruiter of the year if I remember correctly.

Folks are saying how great Ash is recruiting after a 2-9 year and it's true but I wonder how much of it is simply the aura of a new staff.

Bridgeton is almost as close to College Park as to P-way in more ways than one. Our self imposed hole is deep and one receuiting cycle will not dig us out.

Check your geography. It's only 100 miles from Bridgeton to Rutgers.
Ash can and will get the NJ Recruits that we have missed out on the last 5 years.

Ok were the jokers that started harassing him on Twitter?

SMH
I do not condone the bashing. In this case i honestly saw 4 people...one said "boooo", and then tweeted sorry just like to seemkids stay home.

The primary one is the idiot that went at it with Tennessee fans for about a week last yesr....This is the idiot who does a lot more bad then good for the Rutgers name

This one as well;

M Bell's tweet nails it. I do also get caught up in the stupidity ss well. I don't think fans are pounding the fact they are going somewhere else, just can't take losing a player needed and wanted so much

Agree, but he got about 4 tweets at him and then fired that off. Honestly there was very little reaction from the RU crowd on this, just 2 or 3 knuckleheads.

As always, I wish the kid a non-impactful and injury free career. And hope he gets his degree.

Yeah I don't understand the bitching.

I wish our fans cared as much when recruits get tweet hate from other schools when picking RU.

You obviously shouldn't tweet hate at recruits, but honestly people need to grow a pair on both sides.

As an aside, did not realize the origin of the non-word "Welp." From Urban Dictionary:
Initial use of/birth of the word:"Hey fellas. Big Gulps, huh? Welp, see ya later!"

The saddest thing of all, there is like 1 Maryland fan who even knows who Bell is on Twitter.
Don't know if I agree. In a player's decision hierarchy:
1. Relationship with the coaches
2. Fit with the team and existing players
3. Facilities, weight room, stadium
4. Academics and majors (for some players this can be #1 or # 2)
5. Is the team a "hot" team like Michigan or tOSU or an up and comer
6. Fanbase - think that fans hold this in much higher regard than recruits.
7. Fanbase internet and social media presence-same as #6

Forget Bell. He was never coming here. We have Fogg. And I doubt Maryland fans are harassing Fogg on Twitter.

Adults tweeting 17-18 year olds regarding their college selection is super cringe-worthy.
Adults tweeting their emotional reactions to most things is cringe-worthy, unless they have some sort of personal stake--such as a coach reacting to a recruit committing to their team.

Especially to a Md??? Not that Umd is a bad school but in our own number 1 media stage he could've been a builder leader in his home state!?! It baffles me !!!

It sucks to lose out on a recruit of his potential.

Folks are just venting.

And so is Bell.
