So you’re saying the 14 SEC MENS HEAD COACHES who selected Oscar for the SEC ALL DEFENSIVE TEAM know nothing about basketball?

Yes we are absolutely saying that, he’s the worst I’ve ever seen play defense.

If we’re being honest neither one of Oscar or Dickinson fits what next years team needs. Next years team needs a rim running shot blocker, who isn’t parked on the block and a stretch four so Wagner dillingham and Edwards can have driving lanes, now Oscar coming back would be great but the fit for him and Dickinson o next years roster doesn’t seem like a good one, obviously if either one wants to come you take them and make it work
Exactly

Pal, if you can't see that then don't blame me, it just shows you know literally NOTHING about basketball. There's not a Single person, not One that believes he can even remotely, even average play defense. He's horrid.

I know people say it. It sounds good but it’s just not true. Especially for Cals teams. He’s tried to jam in those stretch 4 types and he can’t scout the position. Even if cal had stud shooters in the front court cal will make them play back to the basket and will yank them if they face up taking 3s and jumpers. AD the best player we’ve had with cal didn’t even get a green light. Towns no green light. These are guys who can knock down shots. I promise you if cal gave OT the green light he would be decent from 3. I mean he knocks down those shots from the top of the key. We know bradshaw can shoot it. No I want legit big. Cals makes them play like bigs and we don’t have the minutes for a “stretch 4”.
That little jump **** he had from the free throw line was off 22-23 He didn't take alot of those.

Try getting out of mommas basement and get out into the real world. You may learn a little something about basketball and life. Oh btw, here’s 2 more NBA draft sites that give Oscar a good grade on his defense. Suck on that rube.

Heard Tucker on Leach Report this a.m. and he didn't sound as confident verbally as he was on Twitter yesterday regarding Oscar having not talked with staff ....

It wasn't "this isn't true" it was " I don't believe it is true."

It's not just the in-game coaching that's crappy...roster building, player development, team prep, etc. etc. It's all gone to hell the last few seasons
Injuries and roster management have completely derailed the last 2 seasons. I find a lot of the other criticism to be a little overblown. I find not using all your scholarships beyond unacceptable. I actually think these could have alleviated this disaster to a large degree if used properly.

I guess it comes down to what your definition of "bad mouthing" is. There's been a bunch of guys and their camps who said they didn't like the way they were used under Calipari.

Briscoe did.
Lamb did.
Gabriel did.
SKJ did.
Tyreke Evans did.
Hopkins did.
Matthews did.
Whitney did.
Add Cam Fletcher to the list.

maybe it is just me but I am not sold on Ugo being our starting center next season.
Not even close, maybe the 24/25 season, but he's nothing but a project right now.
Cal was playing Ware and Collins over Ugo for a reason, but at least this time it was for the right reason.

We miss on Tshiebwe or Dickinson, that might be the case.

And I have a hard time imagining Onyenso going from a rarely used third string Center to a starter in one season.

If Onyenso proves to be not quite ready for prime time, then we could be looking at a small ball lineup eventually with Dillingham, Wagner, Reeves/Sheppard, Edwards, and Bradshaw being the starters.

Of course, there’s always a chance a better option jumps into the portal later in the offseason.
Problem is, Cal won't go with small ball. He will roll with Ugo and lose games on the gut feeling that Ugo will be great by March, but by then, our seed will be much lower than it should be.

Dickinson named 3 schools he was taking visits to, and we weren't one of them. I think at this point we might want to consider the fact that with Ugo returning and Oscar and maybe .... he's picking someone else.

Let's NOT let this kid get us tied up in knots. I can live with a shot blocker or two in the middle and surround them with scorers if thats our fate. Cal knows the natives are restless. I have to believe he will turn the heat up and figure things out. He is pretty close to being backed in a corner and none of these kids came here to lose.

Its a pivotal year, we all know it.
KSR pre show just said Hunter is visiting UK from 4/23 through 4/25.

Doesn't mean we have to like it.I'm tired of players holding UK hostage whether it's Livingston or Oscar.
It's not like Oscar hasn't already contributed a lot to the program. IMO, he gets more latitude than someone like Shaedon Sharpe who just used UK without ever putting one foot on the floor.

I just saw that. Reading the whole article, sounds like he wasn't planning on coming but Cal talked him into it.

I still doubt he comes. I guess it comes down to whether he's chasing a title, draft position, money, what?

If he comes here he will not be the main focus, no one player gets that. They would have to take (earn) it, a la ADavis.

I’ve been watching UK basketball over 60 something years, I sat in the stands and watched countless games the Baron coached and I’m hard pressed to remember a player that could never learn to defend the pick and roll, but Oscar can’t
