It’s kind of pathetic that a kid who has less than no chance of ever playing in the NFL would leave both a Big 1i0 and a SEC team; he should feel fortunate that he got to play football at that level. At this point, when does he start concentrating on getting a degree at a school like a PSU or Mizzou that can open up doors so that he can be a productive member of society after his college football days are over rather than chasing an unrealistic dream?
Many many thumbs up for this one. I hate to see the sausage being made.

Drink is starting Zollers in the bowl game and made it clear that next year there would be competition for starter. Looks like Beau simply wants to play. VTech would be a good place for him.
Assuming Franklin is dumb enough to guarantee him the starting role which I don't think he is.

He should probably go to a G5 school and be a star.

Really would not put it past him, really I don't. Is it the right move, no, but Beau knows the offense, is a one year stop gap while Huhn gets up to speed. But no idea what he will do.

Beau back to Penn State? Beau just hit the transfer portal. Would you guys want him back or no? I’ve also heard a few former Pitt players saying Penn State is interested in Mason Heintschel (not sure how accurate it is). Also Rocco Becht is a option for Penn State.

Everybody happy with Grunk or rather have a transfer QB come in?
Get a portal QB that is willing to compete for starting role. Best man becomes QB1.

At this point I couldn’t care less where Beau decides to go. I know he’s not returning to PSU.

Damn, can anyone envision a CFB in 2035 that isn’t a total **** show? I tell myself that I’m a rational man but what would a rational man say about the current state of college football? You got to wonder.

Want Grunk back … first Penn State QB to throw the ball down the middle

Way WAY WAY too panicky under pressure to know if we can rely on him next year. Maybe he develops and calms down, but ... man ... I have never seen a QB at any level panic the way he did when heat was coming ... or even, some times, when he thought it was coming, but it wasn't there yet, or wasn't there at all.

Threw a nice ball and made good decisions (usually) when he had time and a clean pocket ... but, he was Jekyll and Hyde, based on pressure.

Yes. Too bad we didn’t have him this year. But will it happen. Doubt it with becht a possibility

Beau would start next year for either PSU or Mizzou unless transfers came in. Not saying zollers or grunk won't be better, but not next year.

Beau Pribula graduated from Penn State in December 2024 with an Advertising and Public Relations degree.... In 3 years. I wouldn't be surprised if he got his masters from Mizzou.

Actually kind of pathetic a poster would make a comment that beau should concentrate on getting degrees, and other posters agreeing with them.

If he would have been the starter at Mizzou next year he wouldn't be leaving
Grunk was better than him this year
Beau's issue isn't the education--it's that he refuses to accept responsibility for his actions. Still falsely blaming the NCAA for his decision to leave the moment he found out Allar was returning.
He was never going to be at Mizzou next year--I said that throughout--it's just who he is.

Thanks for elucidating me about his academic accomplishments. Maybe he wants to get a degree from a third school. And that doesn’t make his actions any less pathetic. Frankly, I’m tired of people rationalizing the irrational actions of somebody like Pribula who now is looking to play football for a third school when he’s already played in the two best conferences and actually was a starter of a SEC team for most of a whole season. He seems to be another entitled person who wants to be guaranteed a starting position or he’ll take his ball and go home.

What does he expect? No competition? Every team should be open competition. I remember when Dart was young and struggling a bit at Ole Miss, so Kiffin brought in a portal QB for competition. Dart stepped up and got much better and won the spot and never looked back. Competition is good for all parties involved.

I agree. If he would have been patient and waited it out, he would have gotten his shot at PSU.

Is the starting QB that got hurt in the preseason at Mizzou back next year also? People forget that Beau was supposed to start the year on the bench. People also don’t realize that Drink is brining in Gavin Sidwar from LaSalle fresh off beating PCC a second time this year for the state title at 6A.

A degree is only temporary, but football lasts a lifetime.

Sentimentality has no place on the football field. The best players should be starters. How much we like a player personally is irrelevant.

Penn State needs a very good QB who can make a big difference in 2026. If there is a much better option than Grunk, then Penn State should go with the better option.

Lastly, it’s baffling how much air time is given to Pribula. He‘s not a very good QB and has limited skills.

The first sentence is only partially false. Beau nor Horn won the starting job. Beau was going to start the opener and Horn the second game. They were both going to play. Horn got hurt during his first series which made Beau the starter. Beau didn't win the job.
Also, maybe LB considers playing Central Arkansas the preseason?

My mistake. You are right. Pribula and Sam Horn were splitting time at QB to start the season. Horn got hurt in the first game of the year to give Beau the job exclusively.

I have zero interest in Beau. I think he’s perfect for Franklin at VT and I wish him the best. I want Grunk as our starting QB. Or if MC brings in Becht, I would pay Grunk enough to to stay on for 2026 and give him the job in 27. Then we see who develops out of the incoming freshman qbs for the future.

I dont care if he comes back or not. But I would like to know there will be a genuine QB competition next year. And may the best man win.

The team could use a portal QB with some experience. Even if it is just to push Grunk to get better.

Pribula is smart, he has absolutely zero chance of seeing a NFL field as a QB, why not chance the bag? As far CMC, why he would want a Franklin QB who already Portaled out of the program to come back is beyond me but stranger things have happened. I think most likely scenario is Becht comes in, Grunk portal searches with potential to come back and compete if he doesn’t find a suiter.

A lot of football fans are emotionally immature and they don't take break-ups well.

College football is led by morons and its got zero control. Worse than the NFL. Its entertaining but who cares who wins? They probably just bought a team.

Maybe because he has the chance to make more $ in one year then he probably will in the next 5 , 10 or more years once he is out of school.

I'm sure Beau is deeply concerned about what you are tired of.

I'm tired of armchair fans trashing kids for doing what we all do- acting in their own self interests.

These kids owe us nothing.
