It means more, because it was the greatest rivalry in college football. Period.

😂. Greatest Rivalry Period. You clearly haven't been around Alabama Auburn . Not saying OU Nebraska wasn't great ,but the deep hatred behind Alabama Auburn frankly can't be touched even by Ohio State and Michigan. When a Nebraska fans drives to Oklahoma to kill a tree on their campus , when that happens maybe you can talk. Some Alabama fan planned and carried out killing this 200 year oak tree on Auburn's campus at Toomers Corner . He killed it with like brush killer or some other chemical. That's dedication and hate right there.

I own a retail business. I was serving a guests with an Alabama hat on and I mentioned my niece goes to Auburn , he put all his stuff on the counter , turned around and walked out. There is something not right or in the water or something in Alabama . 😆 I graduated from UCF and FSU and my vote for the greatest ever rival is Alabama Auburn. Florida Florida State can't hold a candle to it.

Beating OU would indeed be monumental but it's the B1G West we need to be competitive in and try to win.
Practically of course, but beating OU means something, people would remember it. Beating Minnesota means little, nobody would remember it unless we won the west.

It's sad this generation has no concept of how big this game was and how high the stakes were for decades when this game was played.

I took OU to cover the 11.5 😬. Would happily lose that bet though
Probably the only chance we have to beat OU. We haven’t beaten them in like two decades have we? And luckily we won’t play them for another decade. They had our number what seems like forever other than 3 or 4 years.

Not gonna lie...OU and OSU are two teams I cheer for when not playing DONU. That's how bad we've been.

I've always resurrected OU as a rival unlike any other "rival" and they are still a power in the Midwest/Great Plains. Cool to see in an age dominated by the Deep South and coasts.

OSU never really cared for until covid. Being literally the only other team besides us to call for still having a season. Instant respect, and they clearly give a **** about winning unlike any other B1G program. They're my favorite "peer" team in the same league when I seriously don't care for any other team in this league.

Excuse my rant. All these old OU memories have me excited to hopefully beat a team I respect the hell out of! If Mickey pulls off the impossible... That crowd WILL be storming the field. And rightfully so too.

I don't believe the national championship has hinged more on a single rivalry than it has on NU-OU over the years

not crazy at all to say somewhere around 15% of all modern college football titles were won and lost during this series

I want to beat Minnesota and Illinois but beating OU means more
I would love, love, love Nebraska to beat OU, but I don't think it will happen. I am going to watch every second of the game and I hope they win. I don't think anyone should judge Mickey on this game. I am going to judge him for how he coaches the next 8 games, but I am giving him a pass with the Sooners.

Agreed. I think the bye week is at just the right time. OU may well blow out the Huskers but I am confident Mickey gets a bowl game

I'm glad we're playing them, but since we're no longer in the same conference and won't play regularly, these rare "nostalgia games" - Oklahoma and Colorado - are a little bittersweet - you know it's just a one-off and then it's right back to playing the Big 10 West.

Two rivals who ended up as friends, much like Bird and Magic.

I remember Switzer telling the story of the day he was fired by the Cowboys. He said the very first phone call he received that evening was from Osborne.

You shouldn't like Ohio State just because 2 or 3 of their administrators wanted a season. Most fans of all the teams wanted a season.
