That is a false premise ...

The whole point of this thread was to not look past year two and see maybe that we are getting ahead of ourselves when talking about how we will never be competitive again in basketball. Hell cohen was 6-24 in year two and seem to be doing fine now. Believe it or not we may still be bad in basketball but we have improved this year.

You want to NOT look past year two BUT you keep bringing up Cohen results 'after' year two. You can't have it BOTH ways.

To answer your original question ... MANY here and on other boards wanted Cohen gone AFTER year two. Just like MANY wanted Ray gone AFTER year two.

BOTH got a year three. Cohen came through in an arguably tougher sport and league. It's up to Ray to show he deserves a year four.

So you agree that it may be unfair to want ray gone now because of how the cohen situation worked out?
Yes, I don't want Ray gone now. If we win the SECT, and go to the dance then he needs to be back. I'm pretty sure that isn't going to happen but this season hasn't had anything completely embarrassing that would cause me to want Ray gone now. If we only pull out one or two wins from here on out, I think we may need to make a change. I don't see the benefit of canning Ray now anyway, I would think that our number 1 targets would be coaches on tournament bound teams anyway.

Here is your difference

Compare the recruiting classes Cohen was getting and compare that to what Ray is doing. While the early results may not have been there with Cohen, the talent level was gradually increasing on a yearly basis. Ware, Sword and Thomas are all Stansbury recruits right?

Answer ...

Did it not still take him 3 years to turn it around?

Yes, it took Cohen 3 years to turn it around. Ray has had 3 years and we will know in a few weeks if that is good enough for a year 4.

Again, Cohen had a much tougher league to compete in a sport that requires more time to turn around.

People with that kind of attitude that wanted cohen fired and still find things to complain about with cohen and want him fired have to have miserable lives. The same goes for wanting ray gone after his first or second year.

So in your world, if someone has a differing opinion from yours they live a miserable life? Some world you live in there, Sparky.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion and it's okay to disagree on things. But gotdamn anybody who does nothing but complain about everything has to have a miserable life. Did I explain that better sparky?

I didn't say if they want him gone they live a miserable life. Go back and read my post. I said to complain about it in year one or two is just complaining to be complaining. and I made a statement that someone who is like that probably has a miserable life. I'm not saying for sure I know this but id be willing to bet on it. Is that better?

Who is saying MSU will never be competitive again in basketball. Forever is a long time there, Sparky.

You are putting words into my mouth. It's not hard to figure out what I said or what I meant. That's not what was meant by you reading too much into that post. You're an dumass

I don't know what you meant, but I know what you said:

You said people who wanted Cohen fired have to have miserable lives. You also said the same goes for those wanting Ray gone. Words mean things, Sparky. No matter how you try and spin it.

That quote says that the people who still complain about Cohen and still want him gone have to have miserable lives. And the people who complained about Ray after year one or two have to have miserable lives because apparently all they do is complain. Sounds like you are one of them sparky. Is my post more politically correct for you now?

Not sure of the political correctness of your thoughts, but I'm certain that they are very odd no matter how you try and spin them.

Okay I give up spark. It's like talking to a brick wall. I've explained what I meant. I don't go around complaining about **** all the time cause I like to enjoy every second of my life. Sure some stuff pisses me off but it's life man and you gotta roll with it. Ray not be the ideal coach but it's who we got. Complaining about it won't do anything about it

This is a message board - where people voice their opinions about MSU sports. Nobody is trying to change the world here. It's sad someone has to explain that to you.

I understand that spark. Nobody has to explain it to me. I'm just trying to voice my opinion as well and you are giving me hell for it. Kind of ironic huh?
