Reading that Kanderbilt is NOT pitching their ace and first round draft pick Tyler Beede tomorrow, and going with Carson Fulmer.

We knocked Beede around last year, and Fulmer came in and stopped the bleeding.

Since we have dispatched Kent State, Kansas, Kentucky and Kennesaw State ... I am "re-spelling" Kanderbilt, and calling them Kandy.

Hey ... it's only stupid if it doesn't work.

Go Cards.
Beat Kandy.

We've been called much worse than that so it's fine with me.

With respect to Fulmer, it is true that Beede is our ace but Fulmer has been far more consistent this past month. When Beede has his "stuff" he's one of the best pitchers around. Unfortunately for us, he's struggled in the post season with the exception of Xavier when he had a 14 K shutout. Were we playing a EXavier-caliber (yes, that's a bad pun on Excalibur) team I'd be fine with him starting, but as we all know, Louisville is much, much better than Xavier.

Bottom line is that most Vandy fans are happy Fulmer is starting game 1.

Is Fulmer Phil's son?
No, he's not. If he were, Commodore fans everywhere would be protesting his being on the team, given our extreme dislike for anything even remotely connected to puke orange.

And what "puke orange" is to Vandy fans, that hideous "UKay Walmart Blue" is to Louisville fans!

It seems we have a lot in common, just different people and different colors.

it is always fun to re-visit what UK fans thought about Cal before "they'd do anything (yet again) to win."

Good luck to the Cards against Texas. That should be another great game.

Good game last night KyDore. You guys shut us down when you needed to, and took advantage of our mistakes. The sign of a well coached team. I know that there is a TON of respect between our head coaches .... and hopefully fan bases too.

It was a very frustrating game to watch --- at least for us ....

Hopefully we can play again ... without a 45 mile per hour head wind, taking away many offensive chances for both squads last night.
