Iowans are a simple people, and are easily offended by pork rolls. Pork rolls are often times mistakenly called Taylor Hams in New Jersey, and the often underestimated Iowans bite their tongues so as to not appear to be rude when correcting the barbarians from the East Coast.

The pig is sacred in Iowa, and Iowans are easily offended.

Many Iowans will no longer frequent the East Coast of Florida, having gone to great expense to move over to Naples and Ft. Myers due to the invasion of pork rolls, and other liberal delicacies.

This distaste has spilled over to the football field in the historic Hawkeye / Scarlet Knight football rivalry. While no one really knows what exactly a Hawkeye is, the simple people of Iowa think they do, and as mentioned previously, are easily offended by others that fun make fun of the idolized Hawkeye.

At football games Rutgers fans can be heard shouting, "You stupid pig farmer", and Iowa fans can be overheard shouting. "We're all fly over deplorables, until it comes to the farm bill, so keep paying high income taxes!"

Rutgers has had a difficult time getting kids from Newark eligible. Newark public schools are horrendous.
Strange how Iowa doesn't seem to have that problem.
Yeah because all Newark kids are in exactly the same academic boat. Jeezus.

I can't stand sh*t talkers. Rutgers could be 12-0 and they have posters and fans who will stoop to Syracuse level to knock us. There's one poster named auger who is on the level of Syracuse's poster brees and texmex. The a-holes of a-holes. It's one thing to mock us but it's another to flatout show no respect. Wins aren't guarantee on paper, so don't pretend Iowa can't lose.

Wish you had some eligibility left so you could stuff it down their throats. :Rutgers

Iowa's two year starter at LT injured his knee, early against Miami University. The Hawkeyes RT, who is equally, as good, moved over. Both are juniors and highly regarded. Wirfs started for Jackson in the 2017 Pinstripe Bowl that Iowa won 27-20 over Boston College.

We all know, the only game Iowa and Rutgers has ever played, was a 14-7 win to open the 2016 Big Ten season for Iowa.

Iowa also played Miami in 2016, in the season opener. Won 45-21 that year. On Saturday night, 38-14.

QB Nate Stanley played a solid game. Iowa O-Line was strong in opener. As was Rutgers, in scoring 41 unanswered points against UMass.

Kinnick Stadium is a great venue. Should be a good Week 2 game.
And if Grant didn’t get hurt, I thought we would win.

How are the grease trucks doing?

Not getting the respect and place in RU lore that they should. All original grease trucks should be brought back and given a special place on campus... especially on game days. With everything going corporate, nothing is sacred.

Not sure who you are talking about, but every tribe has jerks. Anyway, if you want to ask any questions of a Hawkeye fan, I'll be here all week. :) Both teams had solid wins week 1. Our starting left tackle hurt his leg, so Iowa will likely be shuffling their line all this week looking for the best combo. Interestingly, we took our freak right tackle (Wirfs) and shifted him to left tackle. Our right guard moved to right tackle, and a true freshman came in at right guard (Justin Britt). Miami of Ohio double and triple teamed our stud DE Epenesa all game, so his stats didn't reflect the impact he had on the opponent (1 assisted tackle was all he had).

What are your strengths? Best offensive weapon? Biggest weaknesses?
There are jerks on every site, but the mindset for a lot of the posters on the Iowa site is they flatout wish Rutgers went away at all cost. That's not happening any time soon. Hell, they should be thankful for the extra money from the TV deal. That sh*t doesn't happen without us. What it comes down to is a lot of Iowa fans hate the addition of Rutgers, but the only way to feel some type of relief is to sh*t on Rutgers. I'll gladly trade the dislike for wins. The wins will eat away at the fanbase quicker than wishing us away. Thank you for becoming the new Sorrycuse. See you in the future. Btw, I'm not a fan of the B1G because they ain't Rutgers.

With a win on Saturday, Iowa will apparently match Rutgers with 653 all-time program wins. Or Rutgers will temporarily bump the margin to two, 654-652. And if so, don't worry Hawkeyes, give it another month or so.

We didn't get invited to the party. We kicked in the door and turn it up... to the tune of $55 million. What was that Iowa was making before Rutgers entered the B1G? Some along the lines of $32 million. That's a big difference. You welcomed b*tches. Hate is such a strong word and I don't like using it to describe some one I dislike. I'll take the win and have Iowa scream and kick like a kid throwing a tantrum.

Iowa for some reason has the biggest RU haters in the B1G besides maybe Northwestern ... I was indifferent about Iowa when we joined (they are the team I always forget when trying to name all the big ten schools) but now I hate their stupid fan base which thinks going 8-5 for 10 years in a row entitles them to something. I loved stomping their butts on senior day in b-ball, too bad then had to end Grants season to beat us in football last time, I hope we leave their fans looking like the Tennessee fans after next Saturday
Every fan base has "those fans." You have them. Iowa has them ... I don't like or dislike Rutgers. I don't know enough about Rutgers ... I think many Big 10 fans wanted to see the Big 10 add Notre Dame or Oklahoma, etc., and while Rutgers opened up the New York pipeline for the Big 10, it's not the "brand name" program (neither is Iowa) ...

I explained it all earlier. And yet some still do not comprehend the pork roll / Taylor ham situation.

It runs deep, and it evokes visceral emotions.

One only needs to look to Oskee Wow Wow and Chief Illiniwek is recent history to see this graphically displayed with empirical data.

What is a Hawkeye you ask? It is a Covfefe. A mystery.

I don't know if I should thumbs up or cringe. But I'm leaning toward the thumbs up.

I went to the only other game we played. Atlantic City, New York City, and camped in a parking lot at Rutgers. Hardly any other motorhomes there.

The only issue was I forgot that the game time was EST, so it cut my cigar smoking pre game short.

So anyway, I’ve been.
