Whole team on offense seamed disinterested. The throw to Rome was sick. We saw in a microcosm what we will see the first few months of the season. He’s so talented that he will be able to make up for rookie mistakes. The defense is very solid and deep at just about every position. Should be a fun season in what will be the best division in football.
Let's pump the brakes on best division in football.
Had one great pass to Odunze for 45 of his yards and a nice scramble for a TD. Other than that you didn't miss anything.
He threw a dart on the run to Rome in the corner of the end zone. Rome was out of bounds by inches. Not a TD but definitely shows his ability. Some of you guys just can’t be happy.
Not sure what Rome was doing… make those mistakes in preseason.
My only thought after looking at the 6/13/75/0/0 and a rushing TD was that it looked like a Justin Fields line

I never saw Justin throw the ball like Williams period. Williams is definitely more shifty/ tricky and smarter in the pocket. Fields could never look down field trying to find the open guy he would tuck his head and run. Fields would have been sacked no question. IMO.
Pretty sure these same comments were made about Fields in his rookie year preseason the first time he scrambled.
I stand by my my opinion that it's the preseason, calm down.
The field striping was interesting and probably played a part. In the regular season there will be a very thick border at the back of the end zone. Yesterday there were two sets of lines back there.
Williams was doing what he did in college. Fields is playing a different guy in the pros . If you remember and I do because I watched Fields when I lived in Columbus. Fields was a pocket passer in college, because he had a great offensive line that gave him all the time in the world with great receivers. In the NFL when things break down he cannot see the field if his life depended on it. I know you’re not a Williams fan so we know you’re a hater regardless of what he does. USC had no offensive line so he is used to having to make plays and usually does like a magician. Yes we all know it’s preseason and it means nothing but it’s giving Williams time to grow and get used to the NFL. You calm down I am a Bears fan watching a kid that might have a chance to be the best QB they have ever had unless they mess him up. Carry on hater.
So if he succeeds it's all him, but if he fails "they messed him up"? Wow, talk about being short sighted.
Yes, it was not the normal Soldier Field end zone markings. but the way it was done was exactly how the two practice fields in lake forest are…just saying.
You’re a hater just admit it. Not short sighted just going by how the Bears have handled QBs in my lifetime.
I think he is talking about top to bottom as far as division strength. All four teams look pretty solid.
How the Bears have handled or picked QBs? There's a big difference. Name a QB who struggled with the Bears but then went on to be successful with another team, I'll wait.
You're claim is that the Bears can't develop QBs, but I say they just pick busts. Jury is still out on Fields, but Trubisky never started once he left the Bears, then there's guys like Orton, Grossman, and McNown. The best QB the Bears drafted in the last 40 years is Jim Harbaugh and that's just awful to admit. So you can call me a hater, but until there's proof the Bears drafted the right guy I'll hold off on being overly optimistic.
Not buying this talk at all… 2/4 final NFC teams game out of the Norse. Bears got a lot better this offseason.

If you're a gambling man look at the odds to win the Super Bowl by division. The NFC North has the 4th best odds out of 8 divisions. So yes, an average division.
It's always possible, but I think there are way too many questions about all the teams in the North to be so confident about how good they are.
Will the Lions have any sort of regression from last years success? Will the Packers continue to improve or will they level off? Will the Bears young talent and new acquisitions mesh together right out of the gate? Will the Vikings be really bad or just average?
Can’t you make this argument about any division?
AFC North
ravens - Can Lamar win the big game. Will Henry show signs of wear
Steelers - Can anyone play QB? Can their O Line protect anyone?
Bengals - Who will run the ball? Can the O Line keep Burrow upright? Can their secondary cover anyone?
Browns - Great defense but?
You can make this argument about every team in the league except for KC.
Exactly, so how can you say the North is so great when they weren't the greatest last year? Without deep diving I would rank the NFC North 4th in the league behind the AFC and NFC West and the AFC North.
Based on deep dive talent and questions in the off seasonal to bottom this is the deepest division in the league. I will put a caveat on this only to say that Minnesota is the outlier.
But if you’re basing this on past history - two teams in that division went deep into the playoffs with one just missing the Super Bowl.
Look around the NFC
East - Philly and Dallas and meh
South - anyone’s guess - saints Bucs or Atlanta
West - Niners or Rams
AFC
East - Dolphins or Jets Bills could be icky
North - Ravens then meh
South - Texans then meh
West - Chiefs then meh
This is sports and specifically the NFL. If any of us "really knew" we would be sipping drinks on our private island.
The Packers won a wild card game, but I would hardly call that "deep into the playoffs"
The AFC North is meh? Lol. Every team was above .500 last year and 3 teams made the playoffs.
Using your same "meh" criteria the NFC North last year was the Lions and then meh.
Last year the North played the AFC West and NFC South and the Packers who went "deep into the playoffs" went an average 4-4 against those teams.
2 of those AFC North teams didn't win a WC game (and they were not competitive)...just saying.
Would you say the Bills and Bucs made deep playoff runs just because they won a WC game?
The Packers also lost to one of those AFC North teams, Steelers, just saying.
I never said the Packers made a deep run. I will say they won a playoff game which is more than two of those 2 AFC North teams can say.
On GB losing a regular season game to Pit....so?
So by that logic you’re saying Pittsburgh is better than Green Bay.
I think the Green Bay roster is better than Pittsburgh. I think the bears roster is better than Tampa and I think Detroit’s roster is better than all the teams you mentioned.
TB also won a playoff game and the NFC South is a terrible division.
This started with talking about where the NFC North ranks among the others in the league so how the North fares against those teams matters. The AFC North teams had a total of 43 wins, 9 more than the NFC North teams.
The NFC North is not a great division, it's not a terrible division either, it's average.
But that is like, your opinion man.
We are talking about this coming year...things change and this is the NFL.
When talking about last it's not apples to apples to compare total div records when they don't play the same schedule. With that said I agree LAST year the AFC North top to bottom was better.
I will say this....I am excited for the bears. Not going to pretend I know if they will be good but I am eager to see how this season goes. I think their floor is high(ish), maybe the average division will help. 
I hope so too, but let's not read too much into thrashing a bunch of deep depth chart Bengals, a number of whom will be on the outs looking in when the season starts.Caleb doing Caleb things. Fun to watch. It’s preseason but nice to see him get some much needed reps. Rome looks good as well. Defense definitely looks good. Hopefully the Bears are showing good things to come this season.
Yes, getting the reps was good, and I'm glad Flus kept Caleb and company in for longer than planned.
