Did not have that on my bingo card today. I hope everything is ok and this is just a "want to be able to enjoy life" retiring.
Glasgow got released yesterday by Lions, he has played C.

Bears Center Drew Dalman retires at 27. I swear you can't make this stuff up.

Between this and Tripilo being out most of next year I guess OL is back to being an offseason priority.
I just heard. These two linemen are irreplaceable for next year. The Bears are screwed!

We will really find out what Caleb is made out of now.

Linderbaum will be the goal. And he would be, in my opinion, an upgrade over Dalman
He has a 20 million a year offer from the Ravens, luring him away from that could cost 25 mil, signing him would drain our budget. I think they can find a cheaper capable replacement at that position. I'm good with the Commanders center. He was at Halas Hall yesterday.

He is going to be the highest paid center ever.

Losing a guy to injuries is one thing. But it isn't very common for a guy who's 27 and in health to walk away from playing. Unless there is something going on that very few people know about. And it figures. Just when we are feeling good about the OL this happens. Played every offensive snap in 2025. But he had some ankle issues before that.

Hey, maybe the guy just wants to walk away while he still can. If that's the case, I applaud him. Very few guys look ahead like that. Especially at that age.

Stanford Alum. So he's extremely smart. Andrew Luck is another Stanford alum who walked away earlier then many expected. He did wear a more specialized helmet so I'm sure head injuries were a concern. Maybe he was experiencing early signs and with this education and millions properly invested he felt the need to walk away

Yup. Becoming more and more of the go to. Get your free agent contract and then call it a day.

My question is who will be the first college kid to make $8-$10 million in NIL money and say screw it and walk away from football and "retire" at 22.
Much sooner then later. Who is the Tennessee/UCLA QB who Tennessee initially gave 8 mil and he left for more that I'm assuming UCLA gave him and he's looking like a day 3 at best draft pick after his first two seasons.

I'd collect that back up/3rd string QB money all day, lol!

If the NFL were really concerned about its players, it ought to be mandatory retirement by age 30 for guys playing on the O-line.

Sources - Cowboys are not planning to tender C/G Brock Hoffman as an RFA, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Hoffman started 14 games over the last two years, proving to be a valuable depth piece at C, LG and RG. Just 26 years old.

-Clay Harbor repost

Turned on some Tyler Biadasz tape and he looks like a solid starter. Nothing flashy but gets the job done.

11th best run blocking center per PFF and 4th best pass blocker on true pass sets. Only gave up 2 sacks and 8 hurries on the year.

I have a feeling Bears are going to sign Biadasz. They have Wright due for an extension soon which will not be cheap.

Salary dump for the Bears. Just read they will free up $16.5 mil in the trade.
Bears getting a 2nd and giving a 5th. I'll take that. Though it does mean DJ won't be part of a Maxx Crosby trade.

Really good value for the Bears to get a second and the cap room. I'm a big fan of DJ, so happy he goes from one contender to another. But, yeah, this is a great trade for the beloved.

Cameron Jordan looks to be hitting the market. He is 36 but has ties to Dennis Allen. Possible move if the Bears think they can squeeze one more good season out of him.

First thing I thought of when I saw he was leaving the Saints.

Worth it if he's willing to take a discount. He has his good left in him, IMO, but not any great. Similar to Grady Jarrett

Regarding the Moore trade, the onus is now on Odunze to live up to being the 9th pick in the draft. Thus far, he has not done that. IMO, Burden will emerge as the Bears WR1. We shall see.

I have a suspicion that Austin Booker is going to be a pretty darn good. He showed some signs of dominance when he came back from injury. So I'd be fine with a 1 year deal to an experienced Veteran like Jordan or Mack and see how Booker does with a hopefully full season. Dallas maybe focusing on Hendrickson so if we can get Crosby then giddy up but if we don't I'd be Ok with this option

Booker for sure showed flashes. I’d feel comfortable with a vet and Booker being the 3rd outside rusher.

I'm good with Booker and think he will get better this year.

How about instead of signing a DE, sign the Chiefs DT Chris Jones instead and put Booker next to him?

Everywhere he has played since Little Tykes, LB3 has been the best player on the field. Bears are fortunate to have him on a second round pay scale.
Being a second round pick the Bears do not have a 5th year team option on him. Forces a nice payday for him earlier as apposed to being a 1st round pick. Now granted if "he is what the Bears think he is" and continues on this trajectory he gets extended so it really doesn't matter.
