I'd say look back, but on3 butchered the threads. I've been critical of the DL and the whole Sweat signing. They should have taken a shot at Parsons when they had the chance. With that being said, Poles has done a lot of good too. Bears issue right now though is execution and pass D. I'd hope next draft/off-season is RB and defense, defense, defense.

Lions also a very talented offense. They lost coaches, not really many players.
I’ll say it again. The guy is four drafts into his tenure. I don’t see much talent on that roster.

I suppose we can agree to disagree. I will say that almost every fan of every team in the NFL second guesses their GM. Eagles fans have called for the head of Howie many times

Why would I?

Hey - I get a clear coat on my toes and fingers for my spring/fall maintenance package. This dude paints his nails like a girl.

Maybe that is his thing, but he has to realize that it is not the thing for most men, and I would say 99 percent of the NFL.

If he was dominating, you wouldn't say a word, but your prejudice is showing because he's not. Get a grip

No,, don't do that - don't make stuff up. I did not like it when he was drafted with painted nails and crying with his Mama like he did. (There was a time and place for that cry to happen - it was not on national TV.) And I doubt any teammates went to his 21st birthday party.

Not a fan - never been. But if I have a prejudice, it is against girly men. Except Rodman. He was a legit tough guy and leader in his own right.

Don't misconstrue what you're saying, but then repeat it in a different context? Got it. Followed up by "if I have a prejudice, it is against girly men." You don't need to keep saying the same thing over and over.

Way too much "saying the right thing" (before/after a game) and not enough "doing the right thing" (during the game). That includes management, coaches and players. Will there be an Angel Reese-like moment on the Bears to try and shake things up in some way? Probably not.

Seemed like Dan Campbell was sending a message with that 52.
He was asked all week about BJ leaving being the problem with the offense in week 1. I think today was a response to that. The game could have easily been over 30+ minutes earlier

Yes I agree on Williams coming out of the draft. There is no way I wanted any part of him on the Bears for many reasons.

I guess I would have been stuck with Daniels.

Let me make sure I understand this. Are you saying he paints his nails because he's soft? Or is he soft because he paints his nails? Just curious.

Looks like we can already write the Bears off for another season. Odds say if a team loses its first two games the chances of that team reaching the playoffs is 12%. Going by what I have seen in these two games I think the chances of the Bears making the playoffs is 0%. Right now I see that team winning five games. Maybe six. And if that happens it certainly isn't progress.

As long as I am at it I don't see much of a difference than what I saw last year. I thought Ben Johnson was supposed to be this "tough" coach. Really? I heard some of the same things out of him that I heard last year. When did it become OK for a coach to say "they fought until the end" as if they should be praised? Shouldn't that be an expectation? It is no different when I hear coaches say, "that guy works hard." Well shouldn't he? Isn't that what he is being paid to do?

If these guys think this is tough, go out into the real world and try to make this kind of money with the horrible efforts you are making and the horrible results you are getting. You would be in for a big surprise.

The personnel on this team is not very good. And the GM got extended. Nice call by ol George.
You may remember, on 01/31/2022 Ryan Poles declared "we are going to take the North and not give it back." Since then here are the numbers, 2022, 3-14, last place. 2023, 7-10, last place. 2024 5-12, last place. 2025 0-2...last place. Total record so far 15-38. Just when its this "taking of the North" going to take place?

Almost missed this. Kick rocks dude. That word "prejudice" holds a lot of sway these days. Prejudice, these days, means we like and dislike different things but you but you claim false a moral superiority,.

noun
1.
preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience.
"prejudice against people from different backgrounds".

I.e. saying someone can't be a good leader solely because they paint their nails.

I'll leave it here though because I don't want to get the thread flushed, and I don't think I can change your mind.

I am not too impressed with his nail girl (or guy). She/he left visible cuticles and some of the letters seem a little sloppy.

Also, I'd flip the script, literally. BEAR would be on my left and DOWN on my right, arranged so that I can read it left to right when my hands are up to take the shotgun snap. You know, as a reminder to bear down.

Gonna have to change it up to Blue on Orange as we near Halloween, too, I think.

Personally, I couldn't care less if a guy paints his nails, has blue hair or whatever. If Williams decides to wear a pumpkin over his head instead of a helmet for Halloween, fine. Just win the game. LOL.

I remember a guy named Troy Polamalu who was a DB for the Steelers. That guy wore some extremely long hair that hung outside the back of his helmet. I remember a lot of people commenting on it and hoping if he recovered a fumble or made an interception that someone would grab onto his hair and drag him down. And someone could have because there wasn't a rule against it.

Polamalu ignored all the noise and just went about his business. Today he has a bust in Canton and was in eight pro bowls and was a 6 time All Pro. Guess who got the last laugh? The point? Don't worry about what the guy looks like. Just win.

Just read a Bears' article that provides further context regarding Poles and your above point. Of the 15-38 overall record, his divisional record to date is 3-17. They already are 0-2 in the division this year. I would say the reasonable expectation is for them to go 0-6. There will be no "taking of the North" this year.

Poles has drafted 34 players as GM, not one has reached a Pro Bowl. The Bears had two of their 2nd round picks as healthy inactives on Sunday (Ozzy Tripilo and Shemar Turner). There have been 5 healthy inactives for 2nd round picks so far this season, and the Bears have 3 of the 5.

And yet George McCaskey, in his infinite wisdom, chose to extend Poles with 2 years remaining on his contract.

Ya, it is pretty unacceptable to have two 2nd round picks inactive on a roster with talent deficiencies. I could live with one if he was a developmental guy you had to have and took with your extra 2nd rounder...
