Well l see it's all about the color of our uniforms and that's all we need. So if Coach Beamer go 4-8 again in the real garnet, you all would say at least they look good in those uniforms. You all would want him ran out of town or something worse. I been a fan for 46yrs l wouldn't care if they wore crimson red if they were to get in the playoffs. I would be so happy and l celebrate like a mad man. Go Gamecocks!!!

The fact this board spends a considerable amount of time and space on discussion of what uniform the team will wear for each game makes the color of the uniform one of the most important topics in all of sports. No other fan base devotes so much time and energy to worrying about what uniform combo the team will wear than SC. It is similar to teenage girls talking about what they are going to wear to a dance or party.

I assume you're right, but even though there's an official PMS color, I'm sure if you took everything produced by/for the University and put them side-by-side you'd see many of the colors don't match perfectly. This isn't a USC issue, it's every school. I've seen various shades of orange for UT.
That said, the color in the shirt Beamer is wearing is egregiously off. It's not anywhere near the garnet family. I don't care if it's a band shirt.

Which UT? The one from Austin with the rust or the one from Knoxville with the gae pumpkin shakde?

What do we care about the most, wins or apparel? I thought everyone was concern about wins, l don't care if he wears bright red as long as he wins. Nobody was talking about the color of his shirt last year, when people wanted him fired. Come on People we are finding something to complain about before the season even begins. Let's be joyful about the beginning of college football is about here. I am ecstatic, I can't wait for it kick off, l need some football to make me happy for sports on Saturday and not mowing the grass every weekend.

It's not about Beamer, its about Nike. And of course wins are what everyone cares about. But right now we're in that terrible time where football is close. Between all levels of football it's happening this month but its still too far away; so people reach for something football related to talk about. You don't think it seems generally stupid that Nike can't put together something more closely resembling garnet?

When looking at the UA to Nike football jerseys, I was disappointed that the only difference is the brand logo. Nike probably purchased UA’s warehouse stock of future Gamecock Jersey’s and just put their swoosh on it….. And probably adding $10 to $20 to the overall cost.

This weekend I went to purchase ONE of the three solid colored Nike Gamecock Polo shirts. The options are black, white and garnet. I picked the black one overall. But also ended up buying the ‘garnet’ to have one in both major colors. On the price tag ($90 for a Nike polo btw) the color is officially called ‘team cardinal’. Whether we like it or not Nike tricked us into becoming the Cardinal and Black.
