Norvell and Frost were able to have the best athletes in the AAC and won their games that way. It is easier to stockpile athletes in the G5 than it is in P4. Deion is figuring that out now at sCUm. I do not see a favorable future for any of these guys.
He basically did what Mel Tucker did in 2021.

Hit the portal lottery to steal some momentum before getting crushed by a real team (Georgia in FSU's case, Ohio State in MSU's case) then the team fell apart.

FSU was hyped for beating a very overrated LSU team early in the season when Brian Kelly never has his team ready to compete. They carried momentum through their soft schedule and brainlets got excited that there was potentially a new powerhouse.

It is natural to want to hate bureaucracies, so the CFB playoff committee gets scrutinized no matter what they do. This however was one of the years they hit the nail on the head and delivered an excellent playoff to us fans.

So we should discount USC’s W then, correct?

So you want Direct TV to absorb all price increases? How do you expect them to stay in business if they do? Disney is a **** show right now, and this is why I watch all their programming for free on YouTube during the season. I refuse to give Disney a penny of my money. They offered me Hulu for a year for $1 a month and I took it knowing it takes more than that to provide that service. In Nov. I will cancel. Hulu really isn't worth it anymore since I get the something from TubiTV for free.

Yes, they made an agreement, a contract with me, these channels at this price. Shouldn’t be my problem. This isn’t a grocery store raising the prices of milk. I don’t have an agreement with the grocery store that milk prices won’t go up. I have an agreement with DirecTV that I get X number of channels for X price. So yes, shouldn’t be my problem.

Would Urban Meyer and DeBoer and Hargod fit the criteria you listed?
Like I said, some have been able to make it work. Most have not.

The truly great ones like Meyer and Harbaugh will find a way to make a winner of their team regardless of what level they attain in college. DeBoer looks like he may be of that caliber.

Looks like "maybe" 4 or 5 out of 20, but that's not a very good percentage. My point was...guys like Frost, Norvell, Strong went to great schools with a ton of money and failed or are going to fail miserably.

Guys like Neal Brown at WVU is doing okay, a guy like Napier is toast already. Bryan Harsin went from Boise to Auburn and was a complete disaster. My point is solid in that more will fail than succeed.

As odd as it may seem, with the exception of Kirby Smart, Jim Harbaugh, all head coaches who are Capricorn have been disasters as head coaches at the big boy level. Don't know what that has to do with it, but it is true.

**Edited to add Harbaugh**

At the end of the agreed upon contractual time, Direct TV will charge you the full increase that **** Show wants. In your agreement with Direct TV, I am sure it says prices will change as their prices change. Everyone and their brother knew this was going to happen, so if you were unprepared, I am sorry. If you do not like Direct TV negotiating to keep your prices down, cancel and go to YouTube TV as everyone else said they were going to do. I left Direct TV 10-15 years because of this practice. I like Sling Blue because I can boycott everything Disney and just get Fox and the B1GTEN network (and NFL RedZone) for NU games, then watch ESPN on YouTube for free.

the end game conclusion for me was that georgia tech is probably not as good as it appeared after their win in ireland. and o'brien is a very fine college coach. i hope he stays on chestnut hill and doesn't run off to one of the southern schools. the game is just better when boston college is really good.

I don't think Georgia Tech is a world-killer, but I believe they are vastly improved.

They're 6-2 over their last 8 games. those two losses are to Clemson and Georgia.

Norvell is done. Wonder who they will hire next
They don’t have a B1G or SEC schedule. With a little improvement they could still win most remaining games. Scheduling one or two conference games — including one in in Ireland - at the beginning of the season isn’t brilliant. You need an AD like Trev or the FSU AD to be that dumb😀

seriously, don't have a b10 schedule! that's sarcasm, right? carolina just beat minnesota in msp.

DJU. He was terrible at Clemson. I didnt pay attention to him at Oregon state but he’s still terrible.
He completed 180 passes on 315 attempts for a 57.1% rate and 2638 yards his year with the Beavers. 21 TD and 7 INT. They went 8-4 with their best win over Utah.

He is completing 58% of his passes so far this year with FSU. So far has thrown only 1 TD and 1 INT. I am sure they expected better.

No, not sarcasm. The ACC is several cuts below the overall quality of the B1G and SEC. I don’t think any team beating Minnesota means much about the strength of our conference.

FSU has about three tough opponents left plus several dogs. It wouldn’t be shocking if they won most of the remaining ten games, so the post assuming their coach will get canned — not your post— is premature.

Jeff Brohm had a conference record of 26-25 while coaching in the B1G.

His first year in the ACC he went to the conference championship.

ACC is worse than the Big 12 which is basically a feeder conference for the B1G and SEC now.

ohio state's qb would be second at k-state. bc's running back would be third or fourth. but last year's safety is starting at oregon. so perhaps you didn't miss the mark entirely.

At this point I feel bad for DJ. Poor kid needs to give up on the higher profile schools.

Saddest meme I saw today was:

Travis to DJU is the largest fall off in quality of QB play since Trevor Lawrence to DJU

They still have Clemson, Miami (Fla) and Notre Dame, so that could total 5 losses on the year. Throw in an upset along the way and they could finish 6-6.

> Ohio State stole your QB because you were panicked about losing a legendary 4* if you didn’t start him

> nobody knows or cares who BC’s RB is

> Penn State stole the best OC in the Big 12

> TAMU stole the 3rd best from his alma mater (lol)

> A 1st season newcomer will likely win your poverty conference if Diet Oklahoma doesn’t

I wonder what that weirdo wants. Does he make BC into a really good program in hopes that he has one last shot at the NFL? if he’s smart, he’ll just stay put and run out the clock for the next 10 years. It’s a good life.

don't mess with happy. so many coaches due to their own arrogance and insular lifestyle think success here automatically transfers there. well, that's simply not true. charlie strong had is going in louisville only to mess with texas. dan mullen built a nice program in starkville only to get canned by florida. that's why i greatly admire guys like mark few at gonzaga, mike gundy at oSu, john gagliardi at st. john's, and bob mckillop at davidson. they don't chase glory at the expense of greatness.
