BBN Let's get behind Skal!!!

Remember how excited we were as fans the day he committed? The kid has talent but having a hard time adjusting to the college game. Enough people/scouts are ripping this kid apart. He chose to be a wildcat, let's get behind this kid. Show Skal that we are behind him while he goes through this transition. Skal has lost all of his confidence and needs the BBN. Saturday's game the BBN needs to show full support for him and get him back on track.

I agree, the kid just needs confidence. A little bit of muscle and toughness also but mainly confidence. I'm rooting for the kid and it's way too early to give up on this kid.

I think everyone in the BBN is behind him but most fans are in a bit of disbelief at what has transpired.
When you look at him you see an athletic player.
When he executes he looks polished.
When he shoots he appears to be a superb shooter with a perfect stroke and great form.
But after 11 games he's still lost and that's a head scratcher. We all know he is highly skilled, he just needs to come out of his shell.

I'm on his side in the sun or the shade , if he was an upperclassman then this would be confusing but he's 12 games in and there were factors that stymied his exposure to quality organized play .

Great post, we should always get behind our guys when they're struggling. Skal has great potential and could take us a long way in March, he's just got to get his poise and confidence back.

He needs to be used like kaminsky was. And frank the wank was an awful rebounder until his senior year.

Let skal do some stuff in his comfort zone. If cal wants to force him into a post player, we'll have to live with it. But also let him do some pick and pop and pick and roll like he is used to and like his skill set and frame are suited for.

I would like to see Skal in more of a pick and pop as well. But at his size and his skill set with his back to the basket he is going to have to play down there a little. If it all comes together, then kentucky comes a real threat in march. It's December, plenty of time for Skal to get his confidence back.

I'm 100:bwhind every Ayer. Skal and Murray both frustrated me Saturday. Skal needs to have one game where he just gets 15 boards, 5 dunks, some jumpers. Few blocks. Just to realize he is better when he has a motor

It would be real good to see him allowed to play through his mistakes. Taking him out to yell at him after every mistake is simply not working. One of Skal's greatest problems is thinking too much instead of just playing the game. His reaction to the play on the floor seems to be way too calculated and as a secondary act, simply reactionary.

He is AVERAGING 9.2 a game, after a few scoreless and 2 point games. So, if you haven't noticed, he has already scored 10. So go get your time machine if you were waiting for the first time. If you are going to downplay our own players at least get your facts straight. He is struggling but he is a wildcat.

1000% agree with this.....BBN can be hard on these kids. If we let Skal know we have his back, it just might help him to relax some, and forget the criticism. Positive reinforcement could be huge for this kid.

We all just need to remember that he ain't going to get bigger or gain 25 lbs during this season so all he needs to do is play hard. Our fans love a kid that hustles and dives on the floor. He would get a standing ovation from the Rupp crowd just for doing that.

I can put 25lbs on him in a week with the right diet and work out. Like most college kids it's hard to adjust from high school. All I want to see is some type of production. Either rebounding or blocking shots if he can't score. I know call wants him to score around the basket but he should step back for the 10 to 15 foot jumper.

I think you are underestimating the amount of practice and games that they play in a season. Putting on 25 lbs on a kid built like Skal is almost impossible in fact it wouldn't shock me if players like him lose weight during the season.

He Deserves more of a chance than most of giving him. As a young Pastor I can tell you that walking up to the pulpit and all eyes are on you , It is not a easy task and I thank God I had people in church that lifted me up and helped me along instead of picking out my short comings..
