Pope being the genius he is, got us to OT on purpose to practice overtime domination!!

Kidding aside, saw some good and some bad. Probably more bad. Our bench is not the best. Zoom seems like a square peg in a round hole for what we’re trying to do.

Make what make sense? We want a crappy coach to be fired. We also want our team t9 be good. We can know they aren't good and still want them to be. BCG is better. Drunk BCG would out recruit Pope in a heartbeat.
Where do I start. You asked what needed to make sense, then you proceeded to make the 2 bolded statements. WTF man?

Agreed. But I didnt see you disagreeing with the part that he won us the game. Whistle after whistle after whistle. VCU isnt allowed to play defense. UK getting free throws for offensive fouls. Double dribbles not being called.
Didn’t need to. I hate Doug Shows no matter what he did tonight.

I hate to say this, but I'm with kyjeff on this one. It's just an exhibition game, they mean nothing, see last year against Purdue. We found out who our players are. Now it's up to Pope to play them correctly.
Exactly.

Hell yeah I hate struggling, but I'm not putting any stock in these games. That Purdue game gave all of us a false sense of reality last year.

We aren't good. We have a crappy coach. We want to be good.

Are we all supoosed to just bow down and accept being mid. Na. We are allowed to bitchh about being mid. You have some of the weirdest back and forths.

Like a woman that got caught sucking her husband's best friends cack then acts clueless to why he wants a divorce.

Yea, his offense definitely needs some work. Im very happy with him, well mostly, that dumb foul at the end of regulation was bad, but defensively he is transitioning well to the college game. That's not even a concern now. What you said is though. If he make 35% that uplifts the offense a lot.
The problem is, every good thing he does will be negated if he continues to chuck up threes like this. Like the old saying goes, there’s a reason he’s always open.

We weren't good in this game, sure, but you can't judge a coach by one bad game, especially when it's an exhibition game.

Texas Tech is a damn good team and we handled them

Cal lost real games in Rupp to mid majors, but now, all the sudden, he’s the greatest coach that ever lived.

Just relax, if Pope doesn't knock it out of the park, he's gone and that's what you guys want, isn't it?

I feel, we were watching a different game.
The game i watched we were down one with a couple minutes to go. Got to shoot free throws every possession. Even on offensive fouls where mom extended his entire arm to push off. Didn't get called for a double dribble instead got a timeout. Ball clearly goes out on us and they review it for five minutes. But maybe we watched a different game.

Ill agree with that. Thats realistic. I thought you were about to be ridiculous. But that's a fair realistic take.

Zoom is another bad fit for Pope. Just like Lowe was. Why can’t a Rhodes scholar understand his system doesn’t work with a ball stopping PG? The lineup is M. Williams- Wilkins- Mom - Ndiaye ( Kam here if and when he gets healthy) and Moreno. Play the other guys situationally.
Makes you wonder how he lucked into Butler?

One thing i will say is I think the return of two Kam and Noah will help tremendously. They've been here. Know the system. Know Pope. Maybe they can help settle everyone down. Noah has to be helpful in that aspect at least. Knock down a few shots. Play some physical defense.

Kam can hopefully come in and help the offense.

I think if we start Mason for Zoom and start Kam for N'Diaye we will have a salty starting 5. Gonna need all starters to play 30+ minutes

We're unserious lol. Lowe played in what, 2 games? Maybe less?

I think Zoom will figure it out. Might not be any time soon from what we saw tonight, but he will. He had some bad turnovers in the TTU match, but had some nice drives and dished a few dimes that guys couldn't capitalize on.

He **** the bed tonight, but these are the games to do it in.

N’Diaye def needs to start and play. He hasn’t shot great but does a lot other things good. Defensively his length is huge and he rebounds good. Kam is gonna play the 2/3

Winning without players playing as good as they can is a good thing imo.

A damn good team without key players. Let’s be honest about that. I’m definitely not judging Pope by one game. I’ve seen plenty of them to offer up my view on him and how his teams play.

Yea super fluke. Zero credit should be given. Makes sense with you.
I dont think it was a fluke. I just think all those fifth year guys actually bought into the sacred cloth stuff and were extremely excited and thankful to get to play on the big stage. They gave Pope everything they had. I miss that team. And still say without injuries they were a threat to win it all.

A significant number of Cal fans on here reside closer to Texas than Lexington... You can usually spot them with the name "Anon********" or an account created within the last two years.

I think Kam will play 2-3 but Momcilovic will spend some minutes at the 4 beside Kam. Kam is what, 6'8"? N'Diaye would be better off the bench for me, as would be Zoom. Both guys have talent, they just have to reign in their games. Zoom needs to learn to move the basketball and N'Diaye needs to calm down on the 3's, he isn't Dirk Nowitzki.

Agree on all fronts, but Uzi is a weird case, Man. I like his shot and honestly kinda expect him to make a lot more than he has.
