I haven't had much of a chance to see Baylor play this year and I'm watching them crush Iowa State. Outside of Russell being more mobile than Dane, the offensive play calling is about the same. Biggest difference is Baylor's o-line is fantastic.

Also, if we have 6'8" 400lb FB out there, we need to bring him in. LaQuan McGowan absolutely crushed a 300 lb DL and then ran through a hole and brought 3 IaSt players with him getting the RB into the end zone. We simply need a better quality of player to get this thing to gel. I think Mattox and Monty are getting players they need.

Baylor has the best receiving unit in the country...which also helps. Linwood is a very good college running back as well.

I'm guilty and I admit it. I let our performance in Norman exceed what realistic expectations were preseason. I completely agree with you regarding our recruiting. 2 years from now, we're going to be right where we need to be.

Or after our basketball team stops winning, whichever comes first. ;)

I was going to post pretty much the same thing. I guess that's why analysts call our offense "Baylor Light". We do run the same things but without the athletes at every offensive position.
They have a veteran senior line, a great dual threat QB, great RB's and WR's. They have a threat at every offensive position. When we get thru a couple more recruiting cycles, we should have the big boys up front, a dual threat QB and fast skilled players at RB and WR. Baylor has so much speed at the skilled positions.

I'm telling you this QB they have committed for this years class could be pretty special. It's time to relax and support. They will get there.

I like the fact that when the team loses this year, it feels like a funeral wake in post game press conferences. Last year, they'd lose, and the players and coaches kept spinning it as a positive that they were getting closer to a "tipping point" and so forth. Losses should hurt; they make the taste of victory that much sweeter!
