He could be huge headed down the stretch if he can keep progressing.
He understood the assignment. You are understating his performance. Dominant!!!!!
My guess is rest for Davis and Webb, and with that outing I assume Bauer will be available Saturday.I was wondering why we brought him in to pitch with such a big lead? Seems like we could’ve saved him for tomorrow.

Because they are still not confident in him. This way he got some SEC work, he saved the arms of the guys they have been using, and he probably gained some confidence with that outing. Really was a great move and outcome.I was wondering why we brought him in to pitch with such a big lead? Seems like we could’ve saved him for tomorrow.
O'Connor mentioned that possibility in the post game radio interview with NeilCan he come back and pitch on Saturday?
After watching him get hit all over the yard a couple weeks ago against LSU, I had some serious concern that he might be running out of gas. I don’t know what his inning count is up to, but it’s got to be dang near double the innings of any pitcher. And let’s not forget Tomas. He was excellent as well.
Yeah. We may need him tomorrow. Glad he threw so few pitches, but I would have used a less reliable reliever.I was wondering why we brought him in to pitch with such a big lead? Seems like we could’ve saved him for tomorrow.

Anyway, it’s great to see him come right back and pitch like this because every hope we have for the season is wrapped around him. He’s been a beast
75 IP, next closest is Stone with 57.1 IP.After watching him get hit all over the yard a couple weeks ago against LSU, I had some serious concern that he might be running out of gas. I don’t know what his inning count is up to, but it’s got to be dang near double the innings of any pitcher.

Bauer's been good but up until his last couple of appearance he's been no more reliable than the worst of our bullpen.Yeah. We may need him tomorrow. Glad he threw so few pitches, but I would have used a less reliable reliever.
I think the Baur since the extended break they gave him to fix his mechanics is one of the best pitchers in the conference. I’m not digging into before & after stats but if anyone wants to the difference couldn’t be any bigger.Bauer's been good but up until his last couple of appearance he's been no more reliable than the worst of our bullpen.
Hopefully, he's turned the corner.
And let's be honest, even big leads don't feel safe with this team yet.
As a previous poster mentioned. BOC's move with Bauer looks absolutely brilliant this morning.
that would be spectacular....including an inning or 2 from McPherson.
He pitched with an edge like he was pissed about something ****After watching him get hit all over the yard a couple weeks ago against LSU, I had some serious concern that he might be running out of gas. We had a 5 run lead, shouldn't have needed Davis or Webb either. Just seemed odd to me with the lead we had at that point in the game with 2 more to play and a TBD for Staturday's game. It definitely worked out, seemed like we could've gambled with one or two of the other arms and saved him, Davis and Webb. Guess they were wanting to be able to possibly use him twice this weekend. My guess is rest for Davis and Webb, and with that outing I assume Bauer will be available Saturday.
If they weren't confident in him after LSU, will they ever be?Because they are still not confident in him. This way he got some SEC work, he saved the arms of the guys they have been using, and he probably gained some confidence with that outing. Really was a great move and outcome.
Last couple of appearances?????Bauer's been good but up until his last couple of appearance he's been no more reliable than the worst of our bullpen.
Last couple of appearances?????
He came back from the month long absence on 3/24 vs USM. Since his return, he's thrown 16.1 innings over 8 appearances and only surrender 3 earned runs. That's a 1.65 era in that span making him the most reliable guy out of the pen during the 2nd half of the season, not just a "couple appearances".
Let's ignore the fact that if they went to a less reliable arm and it backfired, ya'll would be calling him a moron. If there are 6 games left and you are trying to win 3, why would you gamble? In this league you do what it takes to win the games you can win.
We had a 5 run lead when he came in. We catastrophically blew a 5 run lead in Austin not even a week ago. Not screwing around was the right call.
That's why I was confused when Butch pulled his starter. Was he unaware of last Sunday's cluster 17?

We didn’t have Charlie freaking Foster on the mound last night. That's why I was confused when Butch pulled his starter. Was he unaware of last Sunday's cluster 17?
