Could be a really fun year. The young guys will keep getting better and Tharnish is a star. Bell back now too. Just need the pitching to hold up. Ming has a team built for the future which is awesome.

My observations so far:
1. Weekend starters very strong so far (except for Jelkin tonight);
2. Need to find a 4th starter for the postseason; Alderman hasn’t found it; still think J Bennett could help there;
3. Bullpen has potential depth, but need to see how they hold up in SEC;
4. Hitting has been hot and cold;
5. Tharnish is the real deal and Hudson Brown off to a great start;
6. Schwartz and Jenkins ooze potential but still figuring it out - will need them;
7. Caiden Cloud has made some big plays while Cerny nurses a hammy;
8. The team has good depth all around;
9. I am still very high on their chances for Omaha - will be fun to watch with Bell and Cerny back full strength.

Bennett was awesome in relief last night. Cloud had a great night, he might not be giving up his spot when Cerny is healthy.
Cats break the tie with Ball State. 3-2 cats end of the 4th. Dude stole 2nd, and then 3rd and scored on a single with 2 outs. Mingione is a manufacturer!

Another win yesterday with some nice hitting from the lower half of the order.
Need to find another option or two for the mid-week starter. Between walks, too many pitches and mistakes we are lucky our mid-week games have been against lesser competition.

I’m ready to see what this pitching staff looks like against sec competition. They struggled last weekend against citadel with walks and such. Some was due to citadel refusing to swing a lot. But if we do that against sec teams we won’t win much. I do believe this is best lineup 1-9 we have seen mingione put together and we have depth. Could be a special year.
Kentucky is mashing so far tonight. Opening sec gm. Jelkin looks good too but unfortunately Tyler Bell is out with no word why.
