Basketball team up at the half

Good deal, I didn’t take much out of game one. It wasn’t pretty and all but that was the very first game as a team. All these players (minus a couple) transferred in or are true freshmen. We are a completely new team that’s never played together, there will be some struggles along the way. Plus side, Fred Hoiberg is a legit top tier Head Coach...he will get these guys going.

but I like hearing about some of the movement with the ball, lay a foundation and get the right pieces and win a darn NCAA tournament game in the next 3 years.

No bowl game and one of the worst basketball teams in the nation. Going to be a long winter in Nebraska.
I doubt he thought he was getting into a situation where he would lose to UC-Riverside and Southern Utah. I wouldn't be surprised if he jumps back into the NBA after this season.
Yeah cause im sure all the NBA teams will be calling....He knew exactly what he was getting into.. from the roater turnover as well as this taking some time...He will get things rolling although these two losses are not good for the psyche of this team. Hes fine
He knew he'd get time, which is (partly) why he took the job. OMG we aren't going to make the tourney in y1.
Fred is a good coach. But his system requires good outside shooters. None of these guys can shoot. I expect a lot of attrition after this season.
The schedule was designed to get this team to 4-0 while they could work out some early growing pains. I’m sure Hoiberg assumed he’d win these first 2 games, even with an entire new roster.

Give the coaches and players more than 2 damn games before crucifying them. Unbelievable the lack of patience from some people.
The fact that Thor is a difference maker on this team should be a sign it’s going to take another year.
Not that Thor is bad...he had some good minutes late last season. It's a long season. Lot of new faces. Give them a month or two to gel and let's see if they improve at all. Big mistake on Hoiberg's part not to get a legit big man though. Even if it's just for defense/rebounding. Surprised nobody at 1 Memorial Drive told him this after watching last season.
Try to follow along. There is no excuse for a program with the resources of Nebraska to lose, at home, to UC-Riverside and Southern Utah.

Agree, but I am a Fred guy and am giving him plenty of time to get this b-ball program back to the NIT/NCAA tourney. Really like his demeanor and personality and it should click with future recruits.
Going to be a long year boys and girls. I predicted 12-13 wins this year. Not going to reach that.
Like at ISU, I expect a pretty good jump for Hoiberg next year. 3 of our best players are out right now. We need more shooters though.
