Basketball rules question regarding inbound passes...

So we all know that after a made basket, the inbounding player can pass the ball to another player who is also standing completely out of bounds. My question is, can that pass be a bounce pass?

Good question, but I think not as it would be out of bounds

While we're on the subject, could an in-bounding player step several feet away from the out-of-bounds line to create more space between him and the player defending the in-bounds pass?

Yes can back up and have seen this.
