UNO beat Washington St.78-67. 1:30 to go. Can’t believe we are going to beat a power 5 school this early.
It’s being broadcast by FloHoops. It’s like $12 or $13 for a monthly subscription. I will be searching reddit! And no I don’t think I can go into any game on our schedule and expect us to win. We’ll get hot some nights and pull some surprises (South Dakota State is easily the best team we’ve even played so far, and we destroyed them) but we are a ways away.
Thanks Debbie Downer... you DO realize he did not get a huge recruiting period, do you not?I can’t believe they are winning games shooting 50% at the free throw line. I have never seen a team this bad at free throws. We will lose every single close game when the other team goes to the hack-a-shaq strategy.
I'm not sure this year that getting beat by UNO means you're terrible. UNO I believe is going to be in the mix for the Summit league championship. I'm not saying WSU is good, I'm just not going to make a judgement on their season just yet. That win of ours over SDSU is going to look like a decent win by the time the year is over IMO.Washington State is terrible, beat by Omaha last week. Hope Huskers can improve in second half.
Cross was a VERY nice find. He's playing well for a true freshman and is going to be a force I think by the time he's a junior.BS that the NCAA has not ruled on Stevenson yet. Having him would go a long ways in helping out rebounding woes.
This team is not going to win many games in league play but you can already see why Hoiberg is considered one of the best offensive minds in the game. Excited for the future.
Huskers are all sporadic. In some ways they've taken a step forward from a miserable game one, but still often look lost. If you were to rank their opponents so far, it would go like this:
1. Southern Utah
2. Washington State
3. South Dakota State
4. UC Riverside
5. Southern
Their two worst games came against the two worst teams they played.
George Mason will be a good test. They will likely be favored by a few points.

I know Hansen a bit from my days at UNO. On top of being the nicest guy in the world he's a very good basketball coach.I'm not sure this year that getting beat by UNO means you're terrible. Really not trying to be Debbie Downer, I even told myself I was not going to criticize this year's team just because it really is starting from scratch. Just more an observation about the free throw shooting which seems to be affecting the entire team. I can't remember a time when Husker fans weren't criticizing free throw shooting, but we were never as bad as the perception. This year we really are bad. 73 for 133. That said I am enjoying this season and you can see where this is going. This is not going to be the boring brand of basketball we've been used to watching since Danny Nee left the building.
edited to add: at some point this year I'm betting Cam Mack gets a triple double which I don't believe has ever been done by a Husker. Beau Reid I believe was one assist short against Michigan State?
