LSU - the two-seed in Hattiesburg?

Not surprised MSU isn't in there yet. Still have some work to do though I'd have thought the Bulldogs would be first four out-- maybe now they are since those projections were posted Monday.

D1 should release their projections this morning. Don’t know if we’re in yet but I feel like we’re very close.

A&M is very beatable for us at home. Bama is terrible, even though that’s a road series. Have to win both of these next two series, and a sweep would help tremendously.

What? We are 37th in RPI and LSU is 52nd! You mean the one time we actually have RPI in our favor it isn't the end all be all for post season seedings?? This is an outrage!

I don't like the Group 4 record-- too many bad losses.

Dude, you can't question RPI! I've read that many times on this board so it has to be true.***

In all seriousness though, we have seen NCAA selection committees put more value on good wins than bad losses. We saw that with our basketball team this past season who had little to no bad losses but not a lot of high quality wins.

I think your team is still really good this year. Your RPI is not high enough because some of the teams you were counting on helping your RPI have ended up not being as good as expected. Tulane, ULALA, UNO, Rice... etc. Us and South Alabama are average. You also lost too many mid week/ non conference games to host. I think you need to basically win out as well. Either way, you will be a scary two seed for someone.

One mitigating factor on those bad losses. All but 1 of the Group 2, 3 and 4 losses have been on the road; and the 1 at home was a series we won 2-1. If we can win 14 SEC games, that should get us in.

Granted we have no excuse for some of our bad losses but some of them have been midweek games which are a crap shoot at best given you are normally throwing your 4th or possibly 5th man in the rotation. That's another reason why in baseball the committee should put that much stock in so called bad losses.

I remember being confused by them giving Georgia Tech a #2 seed but leaving UNC out completely. GT had a nearly identical resume as UNC that year.
