Baseball Opening Day

So who wants to take a swing at what the baseball opening day lineup will be?

Bullpen- ?????? Koestler and Landon Sims.

1B- Hatcher

3B- Kamren James
SS- Westburg
LF- Cumbest/Fondren
CF- Rowdey
RF- Allen
DH- Pimentel/Landon Jordan.

Koestler is pretty solid. I think he will contribute a lot. Dunlavey struggled in the fall some but is still in the mix.

1. I'm curious about bullpen depth.
2. Who wins the 3b spot? Probably platoon until someone steps up?
3. Outfield: Mac and Jake covered big ground. That's some ground to replace.
4. I don't know much about the newcomer immediate impact players.

The talent we know we have is as good a collection as you'll find in the league.

Todd, did you see the SDN interview with Lemonis the other day? It was pretty insightful. Mentioned Mason Land started taking ground balls at 3B. Reading the tea leaves James and Land are probably taking over at ss and 2B next year. \

Lemonis seems pretty excited about Pimentel and how he has progressed. There are a lot of other good nuggets if you haven’t seen the interview.

Bullpen is by far our biggest question mark. It may be a long shot at this point, but if Self and Price can somehow return to their 2017 form then that would be a huge boost. Unfortunately I fear that they’ll never be the same after Andy overused them that year. If we yet then those two guys and maybe someone like Eagan, our pen will be completely a bunch of new guys.

I’ll be interested to see what Allen can do in the outfield. Left field will be more of a platoon spot. Rowdey should be fine in center, but Jake was an elite defender. I expect to be fine in the OF this year but I can’t imagine we are as good defensively as we’ve been.
