I'm looking for some history on a 1971 College World Series representative bat.

How many of these full sized bats were given out?

Would you consider this valuable?

There are 3 sets of stamps on the bat: (a couple of the words are hard to make out)

1. Hillerich & Bradsby logo

2. NCAA ____? Champion
Representative
1971 Col World Series

3. Miss State Univ
SEC Champions
5th Nation ____? 70 & 71

I don't know how to post a picture but I have some close ups

We were the SEC champions. Correct me if you think I'm wrong, but I believe in those days your had to be conference champs in order to move on towards Omaha.

Wasn't there another thread on here in the past year about this exact same topic? I don't remember the outcome but seems they had a lot more info on that bat than you do that might help. Go back and do an "advanced search".

How many do you think we're made?
Where'd you get your bat?

I got mine at an estate sale in Yazoo City probably 6-7 years ago. I have seen one other in the Union on campus, upstairs in the Old Main room. This was several years ago that I saw it in there, so it may have been moved, but it was in a display case when you walk in the room on the left...
If I had to guess as to who they were given to, I would say coaches and staff of the team and possibly the Ad/Pres of univ. at the time. But that is a complete guess.

NCAA _District 3 Representative (This how it should read but probably not enough space on the bat)
1971 Colege World Series ( We were 3-1 in the regional against Miami, Maryland and Georgia Tech)
( We were 0-2 in the CWS with losses to Tulsa & BYU)
3. Miss State Univ
SEC Champions
Ranked 5th Nationally 66,70 & 71
