The key questions are when the shovels will be in the ground and when it'll be done. The coach needs something to sell.

I'm with you in this respect in wondering what the time tables will be. I think the basketball facilities will be top priority and a plan will be made public but is it on a quicker time table or more a longer term vision thing. I'm okay with the longer term vision because I realize the financial difficulties of the AD but for those of you who want this thing now now now now, I'd keep your feet grounded at the moment until more details are released.

If this is true -- and there doesn't seem to be a reason to doubt it -- don't you think it might have been wise to include your high-profile, highly paid and very visible women's basketball coach on your plans? I don't mind not telling the public before you're ready to -- although considering the level of need I don't think Kremlin-like secrecy was all that vital, but to have one of your employees throwing snowballs at you from the sidewalk in a very public way is not exactly the ideal situation.

Here, far more than on the playing field, you can say "Same old Rutgers."

And if a practice facility starts being built in the next year or two, Julie gets all the credit for it. Because that's how this works.

At this point, who cares who gets the credit. As long as it's done.

Shill, i don't expect everything all at once. We know Barchi is a academics first guy, and JH i am pretty sure is reliable to get the job done. As long as we get the plans, EJ can sell the fact that in their junior year theyll have a pf. I don't know what else to reasonably expect.

As long as we get a practice facility in the next 2-3 years, well be able to come out of this. Won't be great, but we;ll have a team that will have more court time which will help development.

I'm not sure why you think CVS isn't aware of the plans.

From what I remember of her comments several weeks ago: she commented that our current facilities are inadequate; she commented that we've been planning for years, but no construction has started; and she commented that money is a problem and people need to step up.

CVS is probably on JH and Barchi more than anyone at Rutgers. She just has a fire.

I am happy about plans being in place. It's a start.
