And that’s when it ended. And he probably felt he had a good enough reason to miss one practice. Perhaps the coaches disagreed. But they’ve worked it out by now.

That’s my guess.

If my guess isn’t exactly right, I bet it’s something like that, something far different than how you’re making it sound.

Maybe he didn’t know…. Sometimes things stay in house. Ya ever think because this is a pay site that you’re not gonna know everything. There’s a lot of posters that know more than the guys that run the sites.

I'm not saying you are wrong but I just have a really hard time believing this would be remotely acceptable. My inside sources are all gone with the Fran regime but allowing players to miss practice is not acceptable at the junior high level let alone high D1.

This is the time he also had injury issues so I'm wondering if it has to do with that if it is true. There are also sources that like to exaggerate stories. I had one for football and once he was 0-3 I never believed a word he said again.

I'd be curious to see what Bank's market would be if he were to be granted another year of eligibility and went in the portal. I don't feel that it would be that robust. He's Iowa's second best player more so due to lack of talent rather than his own talent. I tend to think he would get paid more to stay at Iowa than go elsewhere so him skipping practices and what not does not seem realistic.

Count me in the club of being ok with no extra years for people who have competed in 4 full (or mostly full) seasons regardless of level. Covid years should have also not been a thing.

This thread feels very ITK source: trust me bro.

Agreed about sources. He may be "late" to practices, but based on timelines, it lines up with his injury struggles and seems likely prearranged rehab then practice. So the source may think he's habitually late, but really has partial details. If BMC is calling it a "minor violation" there was probably a miscommunication, or something similarly small, (originating with Banks) and he was held out of the starting lineup based on standards the team agreed to at the start of the year.

Not really trying to doubt your "sources", I (like many here) are having a really hard time believing that A guy who is this involved as the HC would put up with someone just blowing off practice. My guess is your source has heard some things but doesn't have 100% of the details. Maybe I'm totally wrong on that, because if not I'd lose a ,lot of respect for a coach that let that go unchecked. From what we've heard and seen to this point, Ben is a "culture" guy. That just couldn't fly in that environment.

He’s still a kid we all did that at least I did while in college aa those were the best days of my life. I am not condoning his actions but for lords sake it was a mistake and hoping he learns from it

Were you on an athletic scholarship and getting rev share as well? So, basically he has a job he's being paid for. Thats hardly the same as a random college kid taking some me time. I don't care what any individual does in those situations. The issue is your part of a TEAM. You know, there's "no I in team"....

I don't like this thread but it is a message board and people can post what they want. If what is said is true, then that is very concerning regarding the "culture" Ben always talks about and having a better culture than most programs we compete against. I have hard time believing that Ben would allow this type of behavior.

Regarding any disciplinary issues, we aren't in a position to know.

The plantar fascitis was discussed in depth on this forum.
Playing through it is a *****, I did.
