Hami is recruiting him hard & he's going to use Hami as a resource as to what Kentucky is like. Could Hami actually be "THE" key in landing Bamba? I feel like we have the inside track with this kid. If rat-face doesn't brainwash him about the importance of a PUKE education & landing him a job with ESPN one day then I think he's ours.

I think this is an interesting quote from Cal when discussing Hami. Sounds like he's talking about Bamba.

I know it's been said before but not only can Cal recruit his best attribute is meshing personalities together. Notice how most of his recruits get along. He knows what recruits can help him recruit the players he wants. That's why all of his talent meshes together and buys into Cal's system. It's hard to manage that many egos and talent in one room but he knows how it will play out before they even set foot on campus!!

Lol....it was all in jest! ;) When recruiting Bolden they sold momma on his "set for life" pitch. Which specifically Coach K & staff pointed out how K's networking basically guarantees him something if basketball doesn't work out. In other words...there are many so stuck up Coach K's rear that he basically can get anything done.

Pretty sad sales pitch in my opinion to a High School recruit. Effective...but should never go there.

Problem is most of the guys recruited don't want to do something else, they want to play basketball in the NBA not overseas. The set for life pitch works, if you're going to an Ivy League school not so much if you're planning on staying one yr for basketball.

Duke is a fine school but going there for one or even four years taking milk toast courses is not going to do much for you later. Someone is blowing smoke to say otherwise. Might get you an interview but then what?

Bolden had a decent game against power house Miami. Stop the presses, time to move him back up to his original draft spot of 7th overall. He will have to be able to do that game in and game out but much better numbers in order to be drafted where he wants to be. Coming out this year would be foolish for him, and hopefully destroy all hope of bamba going there

That had to be a Capel or that other moronic coach. Did I see this? or did I dream it. I can only hope some smart UK Fan can put real big men U when Duke uses. Put AD, KAT and Boogie when this shows up. Hilarious if they could. Down right fraudulent from Duke.

Bamba is a very intelligent kid. Harvard was an option for goodness sake. He is doing this very much like a business man. Not showing his hand and using all available info to help him make the best possible decision for himself. No need to rush. He knows any school that wants him will wait.
He has Diallo for inside info that even coaches won't tell him.

I wonder how Diallo sees Coach Cal during a game like South Carolina? Coach is a screamer lol. I'd say seeing Coach in action is a freaking shock.
I'll say this though Cal is intense but he never cusses which is amazing to me. Gotta be nice not hearing mfers this, mfers that , all the time.

not like Coach K or some others. Cussing coaches usually berate their players with f bombs and such. Knight was the worst ever. I watch Cal. That's not his style imo.
Maybe I'm wrong. Ive always been under the impression Coach Cal isn't much on cussing his players.

If u have played sports thru grade and high school then u have experienced lots of different coaching styles and coaches in general have hard core personalities. Yes Cal is a screamer but he is a listener. Pay attention he allows them to tell their side. Even allows some jawing. It's why guys like Cousins do well with Cal. He let them talk and get heard. Not many of my coaches growing up playing football at Mayfield would allow much more than yes sir, no sir, yes coach, no coach. But that was a different generation

I lot of kids shouldn't leave but they do ! Money talks. Honestly he has not shown out anything that resembles an nba player except for size and length but that hardly matters anymore .

Bamba mentioned earlier in Summer how close he was with Diallo and Green and has grown up Diallo he's known even longer since they are both native New Yorkers.

It'll be interesting to see this play out as the Duke mantra all Summer was "Get Green and Mo follows" and now will that narrative change? Does it fit an agenda? Or do they have to change their pitch? I don't negatively talk about other programs as a neutral fan, but Bamba seems like a "UK big" more then a Duke big. Duke does great work with the Shelden Williams, Boozer's, Okafor's, and think Wendell Carter is a great fit. UK does great with bigs--but the development of WCS and Noel stands out to me--as Bamba is more along that line of big--needing polish and work offensively where most Duke bigs that succeed are usually offensively ready and defensively need work--although Shelden Williams was a very good shot blocker.

Bamba has mentioned wanting to be an NBA GM and work in front office and "connections". While Duke will mention a lot through USA Basketball, etc....is there any other guy who has held up over time better then Pat Riley? He's an NBA icon and has been as a Coach, GM, and Team President.

Just my two cents here and really what is going to be surprising to some is that UK is in better with Kevin Knox then anyone is speaking publicly.

I only saw him one game, but hearing that he didn't play until he was 14 (Richards), it was understandable that his offense is not far along. He does run and block well. Probably would back up Bamba and break out the following year.

Bolden is a prima donna. If he has a few decent games and decides he wants to go, he probably will. I think we get Bamba regardless. He's just too perfect a Cal big.
