I am not a fan of halftime scores and suggesting they hold that much meaning. But, this game doesn't even look like a contest.

I mean this will be one of Nate oats’ best teams. He has two 5 star seniors, a transfer from Villanova who sat a year to learn the system. His inherited situation is very similar to mike whites with Donovan’s players. Let’s see what he does next year and after. P

what’s infuriating is miss state playing a completely different game plan. They aren’t taking it inside at all.

We likely don't beat bama... but I was worried about the first game of the SECT, where this type of Kentucky team wouldn't be warmed up for. I actually think Kentucky might have been a little more "ready" to play today, having yesterday to get into rythym.

But of course, we actually have to show up on the 1st night to make it to the 2nd..

Oats and Alabama were Isaiah Jackson away from being the #1 seed in entire tournament. If Jackson chose them-they would be my favorite to win it all.

He's recruiting at an elite level and hope he's one UK looks at when Cal retires or if he decides to prefer being a life coach than running a program 99.9% of coaches would give their left nut to operate.

I’ve heard Oats is cut from the same cloth as Gregg Marshall. Know anything about that?

Never heard that comparison. Oats has connected with players well be it HS, college or now at Alabama. Has a really great staff too-Bryan Hodgson is a great recruiter and Antione Pettway has been great at Bama for years, just has a better product to sell.

If UK didn't land Jackson-he was going to Alabama.

It’s best that we lost yesterday. I would hate losing to a football school three times in a season.

What do you know, team plays good against UK and complete dumpster fire the next game. Par... for the course.

We’re everybody’s Super Bowl?
Cant put this on Cal, those damn bull dogs put it all out on the floor last night and came out on top of a scrappy UK team. We just need to get 10% tougher and we'll get em next year.

Eh maybe, team was so up and down they mighta been back to UF/UT/SC form against Bama or could have played like @OleMiss.
I doubt it. They really only played above their talent level once or twice this season imo. Beating UT is the only game I really consider them playing above their talent level.

Nah, we played way below the talent level all year, @UT, @UF, and SC were only ones we played close to that talent level.

Kentucky Effect

Yawn

Miss St thought they won the SECT yesterday.

We may not have beat Bama today but come on, down 30 at half with 14 turnovers?

I get so sick of this ish. Like clock work.
Yep. Take it to the bank. Should've bet a boat load on Bama. Never fails.

St saved us the embarrassment. I remember when KY used to look this good in the SEC and NCAA tourneys.
Don't confuse State getting embarrassed today with UK v Bama. I guarantee you it would have been a single digit game either way as they had defeated UK twice already this season and the last time by just 11 at Tuscaloosa.

No way Cats were getting past today.
Impossible to know for sure, but sure seems that way.

I know some disagree, but I do not think Cal is dumb. He has to see how the college game has been reshaped by schools like Bama.

I'm just hoping he has the motivation / ability to get us back out ahead of the pack again.

He's got to understand he needs people who can make shots. Sounds simple but he's fallen in love with twitchy long slender guys who can run fast and jump high but can't shoot worth a flying flip. Got to change.
