I’ll be honest, it’s crossed my mind but so do a lot of things. In the real world this would not be acceptable. What kind of message would that be sending the recruits? Plus, Frost has already said that these kids deserve to play 12 games this year.

You never forfeit a game because you think you have even an excellent chance to lose.

Not playing will not make anybody better. And if this is about psyche, then they need to quit altogether any competitive anything. They do not belong on the field of CFB, the most popular college sport in America. All eyes are always going to be on them.

The players need the fans support. Both hard, but positive, and soft.

They need to realize we're for them. We need to realize they have to do it on the field, we can't take that away from them.

I'll take this one...Michigan did not make anyone better. It was a waste of preparation and we were so physically dominated that you cannot take anything from the game, except I know it hurt recruiting, and embarrassed our coaches, players, and fan base. I honestly think the team came to win and were so outclassed that their attitude didn't matter. It is only two games, that are sure losses, and a very high probability of being very painful, and likely to cause injuries. I could see forfeiting being an admission that the #1 goal is recruiting, and allowing the young players a couple of weeks of health to learn all three systems. I am sure we would have to pay a hefty penalty to those teams as they would miss a home game, but in the long run, this would be more positive than negative.

I see your point. I just don't think we would gain enough from the recruiting side of things to justify how much negativity would come from it. We would be all over ESPN for forfeiting. Doubt that is going to sit well with many recruits or players, considering Frost and staff are preaching never quit mentality, fight to the end.

Nebraska would lose a ton of money with some thing like this. the games are at wisconsin and at osu. those 2 schools would sue nebraska for all the money they would lose from not having the game. B10 would fine nebraska a fine nobody has ever seen before. for sure nebraska would not get it's payout from b10 this year

Puss I fixation of Murica. We should forfeit and not compete. Dumbest idea ever. Why play sports?

It isn't a fair playing field though. We have a seriously handicapped team that will be going up against two robust fully functioning programs, on the road, probably at night. It might be a ***** move, but would it lead to wins in the future? Or maybe we get a massive thunderstorm in Madison and then are asked to play on Sunday morning...should we skip it? And America has always been a bunch of pussies. Just ask Germans and Russians what they thought of our granddads. But that is another topic.

Losses are better teachers than wins. You have an example right in front of you. The guy who beat you is teaching you blow by blow. They have the bruises and the film.

You only walk away with nothing if you shut down inside. Screw that. War Daddy up as Duval says. Attack it 1000000 miles an hour, only with more passion into the legal moves you can make on the field than you did the previous day.

I dont think we need to forfeit but perhaps not spending a lot of time doing game planning might be a thought. Instead get an early jump on conditioning for next year and work on perfecting the basics

Forfeit Ohio State and Wisky games and recruit during those weeks...

Is this legal?
Would it actually help recruiting?
Is it even possible?
Cmon dude, program has been taking these absurd beat downs since 04 Texas Tech. They still have more coming... get used to it.
Better to fight and die than be a coward.

Also, once you are irrelevant, and Nebraska most certainly has been that 16/17 of the last 20 seasons..... it doesn’t matter on the national scale.

Is it better to go 8-4 than 4-8 or 1-11? Hell yeah, but even at 8-4 you are still largely irrelevant. It’s fun for the players but no one cares about a team that is not a contender.

Bottom line fans are splitting hairs about not getting thier 6,7,8 win season... again obviously that is preferable to the current **** show but no matter what this was never going to be a team that mattered.

Nobody has an actual argument against it? Just the normal ignorant drivel?

No, we had our fill with ignorant drivel from your initial post. That would be the single most spineless incident in the history of college football. And you think Nebraska should tarnish its nearly 130 years of history and tradition to do something like that?? Not to mention that we would almost immediately be kicked out of the B1G Conference. You could bank on it. I can't believe you are actually serious with this notion.

I've watched the first few series of the game, and every big play Michigan had so far was a result of our players being out of position to make the play. And I'm talking untouched players, not blocked players. It's maddening that we are so far out of alignment, and I must say, Dedrick Young was horrible on Saturday.
