Baker is the key

After his come back game against Maryland (13pts), he has been pretty invisible in terms of offense. 30mins on the court both games and only 7 and 8 pts. against Illinois and OSU.
This team really needs the leadership we saw last season from him.
He appears to be back physically, so I just wonder if the Harper/Young offensive has a lot to do with it.

Same thought here.

Have been thinking the same thing. He really needs to pick it up. Never liked his nonchalant dribble up the court or his holding the ball while the clock winds down, forcing us to try to get a shot off as time is set to expire.

I think he will become the key. If I am game planning Rutgers Harper gets the best defensive player over 6'5'', the next best defender gets Young, that leaves Baker now seeing 3rd best defender and Mathis seeing the weakest.

With Baker and Harper on the same side of the court he should see looks he hasn't had in his career here. If his shooting percentage doesn't go up as a result our offensive efficiency trends back towards (not at) where it has been

Due to the lack of the normal amount of non-conference games, I think just about every team is still figuring things out to some degree. For RU, Geo and the freshmen are the areas that will take a few more games to get a comfort level, imo.

Baker is important, but not the key. The key is whether Myles can play 30+ aggressive minutes or not.

Harper Young and Miles are bigger keys to Rutgers success. Geo has become more an ancillary piece. It was a shame he didn't show up at OSU. That would have been the perfect time for the senior clutch leader to make an impact and he was invisible.

Maybe he takes a bigger role when he is completely healthy but Young is the better player and his role cannot be diminished. We all saw what Rutgers offense looked like without Young last game and it wasn't pretty

I love Baker but IMHO Young is the key, his ability to breakdown defenses and check the top opponent guard is more important than Baker's contribution.

Lol...4 years of the same. Hot and cold. An amazing finisher in spots. His stats are good not great. Everyone remembers the fantastic closes but the the disappearing acts. He's pre season all B1G. He needs to start playing like it. He's 4th best player on team. Its not his health lol. Great kid no doubt. But another chance to lead. You all think he's Desumo(sp) ..sorry, he's not.
Ok, go out and own the 2nd half.
