I think this is one of the major problems with Cal. Does not give a player a chance to build up confidence. No one is going to hit all their shots. Look what he did with Allen this year. Miss a shot and you sit !
Cal would disagree:

Man, I remember that and getting a temper about the T. I'll never forget my lady at the time bringing me a drink, looked me in the eye, and said...calm down.

Sounds like you didn't keep her. Was it because she didn't understand and told you to calm down? My entire family, even the ones in Cali, they all know not to bother me during a UK game and for at least 2 days if they lose.

Just wasn't a correct fit. I'm sure most of us have been through relationships like that. Wonderful woman. She was an amazing tennis player for UGA. We Still keep in touch. Absolutely nothing to do with the Cats. In fact, when I lived in Athens for 4 years, she did more to get me "behind the scenes" for the Cats when they were in town than anyone I've ever been with until the Cal era. I live in Nashville now and about to move to Lex for my soon to be, wife.

I would argue that he was never given a chance and saw the writing on the wall.Cal would take him out after one mistake while others got away with tons of them.

I remember Baker's last game in the tournament. He made a turnover, or fouled someone on a 3, cant remember the exact play? Cal yanked him. and I remember hearing from people near the bench, that he told him he was done, not going back in. The same game Hagans had about 8 turnovers, and beat us pretty much by himself. Also, Juzang was starting to come into his own last year and we cant keep him? I would take him over any guard on this roster right now. Im about like others on here, I've had my fill of the shtick, and the excuses too. I can tell you one thing, I know several people personally who have been die hard UK fans their whole lives who flat out refuse to even watch them now because of the BLM video, and say they wont until he is gone. I think some on here underestimate how much of the fanbase is truly fed up.

This, in all fairness to the kid, he came in injured and it took him a while just to get into playing shape. His defense was subpar which is to be expected by someone that's never played College Basketball before. Didn't shoot the ball well at all but he was most likely a player that just needed some more time to adjust. He would have been a huge help had he stayed. Hope he continues to do well.

Nobody wanted him to leave. He wasn't recruited to be 1 and done. He bailed on UK. UK didn't bail on him.
Do you think it is out of the realm of possibility that perhaps Cal needs to do a better job of communicating with players like Baker after they get here and laying out how they can be a key cog in the future? Maybe they see how he treats the top recruits and see others set to come in and feel like they will never get a real shot.

Look man, I realize you’re on a crusade to deify Cal but we could use Baker on this team and YES, Cal ran him and Juzang off by recruiting over them.
Ridiculous post, and not sure why it got so many likes.

Tell me, is Calipari not supposed to recruit Herro, Maxey, Boston, etc.? I don't care what system/program you run, you should strive to get the best talent possible.

Now discussions about whether Calipari worked to develop bench players like Juzang and Baker more has more merit, but it's not like they didn't have any opportunities at all. If I remember correctly, Juzang started at least several games.

I f Baker and Juzang had stayed, we would not have some of the players we now have. According to the fire Cal group, the players we have now are over rated. With that logic, how were they recruited over.

It depends on whether Baker thought the chance was a legitimate chance. Some take longer than others to show what they can do and some leave on their own because of the pressure and fear of not getting much playing time if they don't perform well right away. I would say in Bakers case it was a little of both, he might get 6 minutes and only touch the ball three times, shooting twice and missing both times. Shooters have to get in a rhythm and Cal doesn't play more than 7 or 8 players a game most of the time so after going thru a year like that I guess he figures he knows what he can do but he can't do it at Kentucky.

No because all of that was done. He chose to leave anyways. You might like kids who quit on Kentucky. Im not going to suck them off just because they go on to have success at other schools. He quit on Kentucky. Not the other way around.
