Yep the whole team. Not just one person made us lose any games this year.

But we know who was the main reason we lost those games though. We know who played like a walk on in those games and didn't look like nowhere near his ability. Bagley averaged 22 and 12. He shot less than 55% once. He was far from the reason we lost any game. He may get 1% blame

I really think Bags and Wendell not being out there at the same time could be a good move. When he comes backs, I'd like to us experiment with rotating those two in and out and keeping them really fresh. I'm no coach, maybe that would keep them from getting into the flow, and actually hurting us, but it seems to me if we kept everything just the way it is, and had a fresh Marvin and Wendell rotating in and out, we would be devastating to guard

K did say day to day that he would play if the staff wasn’t worried they he could further injury himself. So saying he could play anyday but then saying he could get hurt if play now

We were always devastating to guard. The difference the last 4 games is the change to full time zone and the improved defense that has come with it.

Any reason if he comes back for acc tournament if he plays say one/two games will he be in game shape and back to normal by NCAA time. Does anyone see him coming back rusty or straight to the Bagley we have seen all year

Hey @dachampishere2 did Grayson win the game for us tonight? Asking for a friend

He played the way he was supposed to play. Y'all get excited over stuff we've seen him do before. All I said was he didn't show up at the beginning of conference play. That's a fact. If he shot the ball with confidence before we would be undefeated or without no loss. As of right now he doesn't deserve to be on either All-ACC team. I stand by that. You can kiss his a$$ all you want from past success but I don't do that. He's a great player but he didn't show that until these last 4 games. And anyone that think we can win a championship without Bagley is just retarded and prisoners of the moment. 22 and 12 is dominant. Not his fault Grayson is intimidated by his presence. None of the other players are

So everyone on here is retarded and prisoners of the moment besides you and one or two others? Got it

He will be rusty but fine in a few games. I really like how our team is clicking. Hopefully we get Bags back soon, but the zone and developing depth have been great to witness.

Name me a team we've played that you think will be a second weekend team in the last 4. And it's not surprising most people on here think these things. They are FANS aka Fanatics. Do you know what Fanatic mean? Some are worse than others. By the way the defense is what's winning games. The offense was best in the country with Bagley. We finally locked in on a defense and can execute it. No more flip flopping every few possessions

Two different announcers tonight said interesting things about this Duke team without Bagley. One said THIS team can win it all, and the other said he liked this team better. Neither one are what you would call a Fanatic either.

Oh by the way, do you count Michigan State as a team we've played that will get past 2nd round? Just in case you haven't noticed, and you probably haven't, 5-0.

That was the 3rd game of the season. No team is the same as they were back then. I don't think we can win the title with out arguably our best player. He can only make us better. Those announcers you speak of change up every game. Let us lose to Syracuse by 10 points and that will change. They'll say we need Bagley then. Most people that know a sport well doesn't listen to commentators btw

Not so sure about that. With our move to zone, Javin + Carter is way better than Bagley + Carter, because Javin can defend the wing and he's not a fouling machine like he is in M2M. On O, we have Carter down low and Grayson - either coincidentally or not, TBD - has been a much more efficient scorer. So we're almost certainly better on D and on O it may be a wash.

Back in 2015, we had a better plus/minus with Jah on the bench, but for personnel reasons we needed him on the court. Our depth with bigs this year means we don't have to have Bagley on the court.

Based on K's comments after this game about Bagley, it won't shock me if Bagley doesn't return this year. I still think he does return, but I'm a little less confident than I was.

From Coach's press conference tonight:
"It's a day to day thing. Marvin has a problem or else he would play. He's getting better. The thing is, it's not a structural problem. But if we weren't concerned about him having more injury, he'd play. He's not ready. He's getting closer. I don't know when it'll happen. I'm not going to push him."

We can't compare defenses. We didn't play as much zone with Bagley as we do now. Meaning it wasn't practiced to the extent that it is now. I recall us locking Virginia down with Bagley playing in the zone. Not to mention he scored 30. I just don't understand how people can fix their mouths to say we are better without a 22 and 12 guy. That's like saying Chicago was better without Jordan after his first retirement.

Yeah, agree, not exactly Apples to Apples since he's been out. And like I said, at least with Grayson, it may be coincidence. But I don't think it's unreasonable that we could be better on D and a wash on O. Not only is Grayson playing better, but Carter has really upped his game on both sides of the court.

But I agree, lots of moving pieces to be definitive.

Not sure offense is a wash. We were number 1 in efficiency for a long time. Offense can't be a wash actually because Bagley was the centerpiece of that number 1 offense. But whatever. I just hope we beat UNC and then win out from there

Less confident about Bagley from the way K talked after the Louisville game. Frustrating how secret Duke is about injuries.

If he does come back, what you don't want is a Kyrie kind of thing where he comes back and it throws the rest of the team off a bit. It's different b/c of the positional difference so that will help. But, it won't be a simplistic thing to work him back in - assuming he actually makes it back. It's still a team game.

It would be ideal if he could get his feet wet in the regular season. If he's out against 'Cuse, then that leaves the 26th against VT or 3/3 against UNC. I'd hate to play UNC without Bags. Hopefully he'll be back to practice next week and he can get some good minutes.

Then work him in during the ACC without giving him 30 minutes - and then we should be good to go by NCAA tourney time.

You are taking a pretty safe position. The odds of winning a NC with or without Bags is not a sure thing in a one and done tournament. Are our chances better with him of course but we have as good a chance of winning the chip as as anyone in the country regardless of Bags coming back.Btw I think he will be back and I am a Duke fanatic who does not count a season as a failure if we do not win the MC
