Yes. Fold.

Like this.

2022at Ohio State54–1044-point loss at Ohio Stadium
2021Michigan42–339-point loss in the Big Ten Championship Game
2023Tennessee35–035-point shutout loss in the Citrus Bowl
2023at Penn State31–031-point shutout loss in Happy Valley
2015Stanford45–1629-point loss in the Rose Bowl
2024at Ohio State35–728-point road loss in Columbus
Not many of those games were proceeded by a loss, which was the topic.

Perhaps MSU game took some steam out of the Hawks before Stanford.

I wouldn't say Iowa folded in the other games.

You listed 3 games from a 2 year throw away period. The main reason Iowa struggled during that period was a crisis almost entirely due to bad luck. And any independent investigator would determine that in about 5 minutes.

One of those games was to OSU. And you cited another loss to OSU. Pretty standard for every team.

And you even managed to cite a game in which Iowa's opponent was punished for having cheated in it.

Brilliant stuff

I’m sure the players didn’t consider those 2 years as “throwaway”.

So, you wouldn't say Iowa folded either. Gotcha.

Keep up with the thread, man.

And keep up with the fact that the idiot coaching staff is led by a hall of famer.

Have you had some problem with authority figures in your life?

Badgers held USC to -17 rushing yards. Meaning we'll probably rush for -30 against them. If we can't run the ball we won't win, simple as that.

I thought we were a good team until that pathetic performance last weekend
If it helps they actually rushed for 40 yards on 20 carries but lost 57 yards due to sacks.

So they averaged 2 yards a run. Their D line destroyed the Trojan o line. We will play better at home and I really don't see Wisconsin moving the ball. Against UCLA the QB was 6-16 for 66 yards with a QB rating of 31. He also ran it 18 times. He is their entire offense. They are very 1 dimensional and I don't see them scoring over 14 pts against us. It's a question of can we actually score more than 10.

This is what Eyes does ... He makes contradictory statements all the time. But he's a troll and spends his time stirring the pot. Must get some kick out of it

For example....just in his last couple posts....claiming to have a HOF coach and putting words in other people's mouth.... but on the reverse side chalking up losses to "took steam out" or "2 year crisis due to bad luck". Which is actually a backhanded slight to the HOF coach and how he prepares/assembles the team

So my guess is Eyes is really a Nebby or rival troll that can't remember all the lies he has spewed across his hundreds of posts

You obviously have eyes derangement syndrome. Instead of feeding the idot why don’t you just put him on ignore like everyone else with a shred of intelligence?

Personally I think it might go to OT at like 3-3

On the bright side, Wisky's offense only had 200 yards on offense.

142 rushing and 58 passing.
And they only had 214 the week before.

I watched both the UCLA game and the USC game. Wisconsin is nothing special. Their QB can really scramble, their back from the Clones is good, and their D is stout.

They're not better than Iowa and I think we're probably evenly matched.

I think the Hawks win at Kinnick.

Haven't had one of those "what if" seasons for a long time--not since last year, in fact, when one play in each of four games would have turned 8-4 into 12-0.

Luck? Sure, it's nice to have luck on your side, but all Iowa had to do to beat Minnesota is for one guy on defense NOT to line up in the neutral zone. Remove that incredibly ridiculous brain cramp, leave everything else exactly as it was, and Iowa wins 10-6. Losing is one thing. Beating yourself like THAT is, well, wow . . .
As badly as we played we still should have won that game. Wisconsin will be coming in with big dreams and we will shut them down. Phil will have this D salty and RVZ, DJV and Diaz have big games.

A young Iowa team had very little chance at the playoff when the season started and the same is true going into Wiscy at 5-2. A lot had to go wrong to lose to the Goofs and they sure as hell all happened. But a young team can learn from it and get better.

USC turned it over twice 2 INTs and I saw one was in or near the wisky endzone. but it is not good that wisky held USC to -17 yards rushing
It was +40 for the RBs and -57 for the QB. USC came up empty on drives of 8, 15, 14, 10, and 13 plays. Sacks, INTs, and missed FGs did them in. It looks like a combination of good defense and bad execution by offense and special teams.

Or we can have Hank drop back and throw the ball 30 times. How do you think that would go?
Its the rough part of trying to run an offense based on play action when you can't run the ball. See ISU, Michigan, OSU games. That's why I didn't put much stock in Hecks game at Washington. When you can run like that the whole offense opens up. We'll need to have SOME success throwing the ball down field or to the TE's past the LB's.

I'd better not see a 2nd and 10 draw into an 8 man box repeatedly on Saturday.
It's funny though, in listening to both the ANF guys and Kluver with Eikholt on the WUW the other day, both shows talked about being able to run the ball on 2nd and 10 if you miss your shot on 1st down.

Good teams find a way to run the ball on 2nd down to set up 3rd and manageable. They talked about how this is the way in the NFL.

I agree. It looks like conceding a drive when we're faced with a 2nd and 10 and we run what looks like a dive off center right into the guard's back for no gain. That's not establishing anything and it's not setting anything up. All it's doing is wasting clock and downs.

But there's logic to being able to run on 2nd down and pick up 4 or 5 to open up your playback for 3rd and shorter.

It's just a matter of Iowa actually, not only recognizing that the opponent is selling out so much so that they have multiple backers leaning presnap, but also actively choosing not to say f*** it, let's run up the middle anyways and see what happens and rather going to the counter to their opponent's blitz over and over and over......and over and over until they're forced to back off.

Kirk just doesn't have the patience for that unfortunately.

Lester calls the plays, not Kirk. Why isn’t he calling different running plays?

Or is lester doing what he is told to, conceptually?
As a matter of general strategy, no doubt KF has to sign off. It will never be bombs away. But within that Lester calls the particular plays. He decides whether to run or pass, and which plays.
